If this is true this is a disgrace. I hope NZ Football comes down hard on them according to the rules.

The default by Red Sox was very disappointing.  Predictions for the other games are for Eastern Suburbs, Glenfield Rovers and Halswell to progress. Green Machine2010-07-04 14:20:52

Surprising results today...

Three Kings beat Glenfield Rovers 2-0
Claudelands beat Eastern Suburbs 3-1
Halswell beat Roslyn Waikari 3-1
Marist won by default.

Was bloody good too. They finished right as we started, despite only about 25 or so people watching (once we'd departed to warm up) a good cheer went up.

Apparently they couldn't get a team together.  Pretty unfair for other clubs that could've progressed and fielded a team.

Promises to be humdinger of a cup tie - I am looking forward to it.

2-1 (after extra time) to the mighty Marist!

Halwell are in rather hot form this season, only having lost to Costal (in all three matches mind). 1-0 to the lady Hawks.

edit - Oops didn't look at that properly, thought the marist emblem was the Halswell one

With the weather turning, David Farrington Park will be the only field in playable condition by Sunday and able to handle numbers.

they turf is reserved for wet weather. Wont help Marists chances. My pick is Kings by more than a few on the turf. Who knows on Kilbirnie? - Kings would be hating it

Council has indicated there is a good chance game will be played at Kilbirnie.  It's in terrible condition though.

If it's played at Kilbirnie then Marist 3-2.

Curious - given that the Knockout Cup draw has been available for months now, why would Capital Football schedule all of the Kelly Cup games (obviously aside from Marist Vs Upper Hutt) at the same time as Marist vs. Three Kings?

Surely they would want as many spectators/supporters there as possible, and surely the majority of those spectators/supporters would come from the teams that play in the Central League with Marist?  Or am I mistaken, and the Kelly Cup draw was done long ago?  Or perhaps the Central League ladies are not as interested in the game as I think?

And on a similar note, the Marist Vs Upper Hutt game has been scheduled for the same time as the Phoenix first game at home.  Perhaps Capital Football could reschedule the Kelly Cup games to enable more support for both the Phoenix and Marist?

Anyways, my prediction for the K.O. Semi - if it's played at Kilbirnie, Three Kings to win 4-1, if at the turf, Three Kings to win 8-0.

Kelly Cup games are 11am so not sure where you are looking

My apologies, I only noted the first game in the draw:

KELLY CUP:
Waikanae             __    Lower Hutt           __    Jim Cooke (1pm);
Waterside Karori     __    Seatoun              __    Karori 1 (11am);
BNU                  __    Wellington United    __    Wakefield 1 (11am);

But that doesn't answer why they have scheduled Marist Vs Upper Hutt for Friday 13th at 7:40pm?  Feverish, surely you would look to have the game changed if it was your ladies scheduled to play at this time?

I would - as I wouldnt be turning up. We were scheduled to play during the Boca game til they saw the light. I dont think they will on this occassion though as they want to play the next round on the Sunday and there aren't many other viable alternatives other than the Fri night. Crazy though.

Somehow I think there will be issues having two competitive teams on the pitch when UH play Marist at the same time as the Phoenix game as a number of players will want to be at the Nix game. I know I will be struggling to make the decsion which game to watch.

note to self - When Capital football hand you an electronic subs board for the match - double check it's fully charged before use.
