60th minute - Archie Thompson (Melbourne Vic.)
Spam United recorded their first win on tour against a
full-strength Melbourne Victory side eager for a win.
Both teams started well, and neither was able to get an
advantage until 2 magnificent solo efforts from strikers dljourdain
and Scottishbhoy. Dljourdain ran half the field beating 4 players
before he finally slotted it into the back of the net, while
Scottishbhoy hit a 25 yard wonder strike to make the score
2-0.
In a game which was won on two pieces of individual
brilliance, Melbourne were never able to get back in the
match. They did manage to get a goal to Archie Thompson who recived
a corner at the near post and hammered it home.
Final Score: 2 - 1
