A League Coach Speculator

If Roar and CCM pick up points this weekend and Glory beat WSW, WSW could drop to 10th.

Is Babbel next in line to get the chop mid season?

Are we nearing the cut off point to change coaches this season?

The lists of potential candidates floating around for various jobs is always interesting.

John Aloisi, Ernie Merrick or Harry Kewell anyone?

Just to remind everyone of current state of play, in ladder order:

Sydney. Corica (Australia)

City. Mombaerts (France)

Glory. Popovic (Australia)

Nix. Talay (Australia)

Western. Rudan (Australia)

Victory. Salvachua  Spain); Interim

Adelaide. Verbeek (Netherlands)

WSW. Babbel (Germany)

Roar. Fowler (England)

CCM. Stajic (Australia)

Jets. Deans Australia; Interim

Babbel does a 5 minute video direct to camera thanking everyone on the day he was sacked. It’s on the WSW twitter feed.
Would love to see him stay in the league. Wonder if McKinna will approach him.

The Club gave Bable more money and still the team couldn't compete. So with near no money at the Jets I don't think he would do anything except cement them to the spoon.

I don’t care if the Jets &Babbel get the spoon. I want him in the league because he’s experienced football at high levels, he’s a character and seems like a good guy. And obviously for the weekly fashion show.

Then what do you think are the reasons for WSW poor performance under his direction?

The obvious answer (because he is not Poppa) may not be enough.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Points per game of his managerial career

They actually started the season really well. I think since then the following have been contributing factors:

- strike partnership just not happening; Meier didn't look fit or interested; Yeboah looks good up until he needs to put the ball on target, but consistently fails; obviously Irishman Simon Cox coming in this window is the plan to address this.

- I've also got to question Jean Paul de Marigny's role - I know there's lots of smoke around this one; but I think there's fire too.

- more recently, losing Baccus to Olyroos hasn't helped
