Both WSW& CCM played in the ACL midweek but CCM have traveled back from Japan, only arriving back yesterday.

WSW to win in a ugly dogfight 1-0. Football will be the loser on the night.

Yeah, can't imagine this being an open, skillful, attacking game of football. Here's hoping for an early goal to bring the teams out of their shells

No one can tell met that Hersi jumping into the fans like that, getting covered in beer and adulation, is not awesome

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Yep, one of the funnier things I've seen this season.

Reddy should've turned that initial shot behind rather than just parrying it.

WSW  are the better team --- just.

RBB missed the second goal.

Reddy  was poor there. Game over.

Wasn't helped by Anderson falling asleep and playing WSW onside.

Over 19000 crowd. All in all an interesting game.

Good call.

Looking forward to tonight's game, expecting the polar opposite of last nights match up. I'm picking the upset, a Victory win 3-2. I don't think the two weeks break will have helped the Roar.

Roar to bolt in.

Wouldn't mind a MV v WSW final. Go Victory and go Kosta!

Lets go Kosta FC!

Kosta should have passed.

Rather even so far, Roar haven't been able to dominate possesion as they like to.

They look a bit laborious on attack too. Passes going astray or just behind players. Two weeks off can count against a team.

They also had the title won about 5 weeks ago and mentally checked out the last couple weeks of the season. Look really rusty atm because of it.

Roar finding their feet now. If they score first, I don't think the Victory will have the gas in the tanks to run them down

Roar are better but pretty even at the moment. Could go either way.

This is why I hate finals footy to find a winner for a domestic league, it leaves too much up to chance. Roar are the best team in the league, they've proven themselves over the entire season to finish well clear of everyone, but all it takes is one flat performance which happens to every team and it's curtains. Can't do shit all else with a 10 team league though.

Got the feeling its game over now, can't see the Victory coming back. Travel & midweek games will have taken their toll.

The ref used to be the best but has made some poor decisions tonight.

Agree, I personally would like to see home + away ties. Like in the Champions League.

Double the finals games, double the crowds, and the excitement

Victory robbed of a penalty at the end but on the balance of things, Roar probably deserve the win.

Arguably the poorest one in injury time. I was very surprised he didn't give a penalty.

MV beaten by a better side but they were unlucky not to score late.

Exciting last 10 minutes. Hard luck for the Victory. Congrats to the Roar.

No whining from Milligan. Good on him.

Should have been a penalty and the ref should not have blow for full time just as the striker was about to score.

 for Roar.

The Roar deserved to win.

Really? Even after that time Smeltz lost half his face in WC qualifying under this same ref?

I don't think it does double the excitement. We just really don't have a football culture down here to pull it off. I can imagine first legs being poorly attended with the second legs being more popular. Also if the finals are legged then home field advantage is irrelevant which reduces the worth of the league even more. The fact remains that despite the complaints in the 8 semi finals since the new playoffs format has been adopted only Brisbane Roar have won away from home and both years 1 and 2 have made the grand final. I wouldn't want a playoffs system where it becomes a genuine strategy to not try during the season, coast into 6th and get to the grand final. Out of the 9 HAL seasons, 7 of them have had 1 vs 2 from the regular season as the grand final. In 2011/12 (Perth) and 2005/06 (Central Coast) the team coming 3rd made the final. So to win the A-League you basically have had to come top 3. Another team could win it but the chances are very low and seem to be below 10%. Admittedly in a lot of seasons the #1 team hasn't won the competition (last year) but in a lot of seasons the regular season standings have been very close and decided by one game. I think if #2 beats #1 in a grand final then that isn't necessarily a worse way to settle a title then #1 finishing ahead of #2 on points because #2 dropped points to some weak teams.

Two legs would also make the finals series drag. Then I guess you could only have top 4.

As for tonight's game well Victory were truly in it. I felt they could have scored a goal and that would have been a fair reflection of the game. For me it was a penalty. Delovski let's the game flow well but made some poor decisions. I can live with the officials occasionally getting it wrong. I still think Victory have to really scratch their heads after this season. With the talent they had in their squad they should have achieved a lot more.
