On paper that was an insane 5-1 win for the Roar. Melb City, VUC & Mariners all losing - dare to believe indeed. The Nix with a 3 point buffer on those with games in hand (WSW & VUC) and 5 points on those directly below them (CCM & MAC), who have played same number of games.
Wins at home & grind out draws away?
The City Group can't be happy with their Melbourne franchise at the moment. Vidmar under pressure? What's MC's wage bill compared to the Nix I wonder.

Still Rudan's "why always me?" post match press conference to come.
The only real issue with that Red is how Evans missed it in real time, it was an absolute leg breaker of a tackle.
I watched large parts of that game and was totally surprised by what I saw. One, WU did not play like the team that lost 2:0 to us last week. Two, Newcastle were definitely not playing like the team that thrashed us 3:0 at home in NZ some months ago. WU did not hit them them on a counter against the run of play - the Jets simply never looked likely at all. And I put money on that pathetic lot to get a win away. I cannot even blame Risdon; he was relatively OK by his brutal standards.
A Draw or Adelaide win works. Either of those puts pressure on Sydney's push for the six.
Wowzers what a day this is turning out to be
What happened to the form book?
And maybe 70 minutes in this game!

Hahahahahaha I jumped out of my chair at that miss.
It's 3-0 but what a fudgeing goober of a miss by Patrick Wood. 🤣

Should be 4. Patrick Wood with the miss of the season
That’s peak A League right there 👏
Torres slams one home. 1-3

C'mon the Jets
Young kid in goal for WSW just had a shocker. 0-1
Gotta say, literally every other team has done us a massive favour so far this weekend lol
Brook levels us up, 1-1
Brook with a quick brace, 2-1
Great chance for Stamatelopoulos but he fires over. 2-1
Penalty Jets, second yellow for Russell.
Stamatelopoulos converts, 2-2
Rudan is gonna go off about that challenge. 2-2
Stamatelopoulos!! 2-3
Marcelo headers home an equalizer in added time. 3-3
Hendrix with a straight red. 3-3
What a bloody brilliant weekend of A-League football.
It's had it all.

That last red card was pretty straight forward. I think Rudan would have no issues when he sees the replay.
The only real issue with that Red is how Evans missed it in real time, it was an absolute leg breaker of a tackle.
That concludes a perfect round of A-League muahahahah
Woke up for work this morning and was surprised to see Western had won. Did the Jets play badly?

Unsurprisingly, it sounds like the Pink concert has ruined the Allianz Stadium pitch.
We want a pissants win here then?

Adelaide turn over the ball in midfield, Sydney stroll down the other end and Mak scores. 1-0
Perfect example of the sort of A League defending we've seen so much of this season: lack of patience in midfield, trying an over elaborate pass, caught on the break and bang, it's a goal.
Gomes rounds the Keeper but can't get a shot off. He has a few goals this season but I dunno if Sydney will make his loan permanent, Talay could find better imo. 1-0
Sydney should be running away with this. I have only been watching for ten minutes and I've seen them squander 3 great chances.
Gomes with a tap in but he is ruled to have fouled a defender, which got him into open space, 1-0
I dunno why but Uffies teams struggle to get that second goal to kill off games. Isn't like Sydney are sitting back here. 1-0
Penalty for Sydney
Gomes converts, 2-0. That will seal it.
Good timing. Can move across to the derby now.
Lopez gets a late one, is there enough time? 2-1
