Seognam beat Kawasaki away 2-0 in their first round, Melbourne of course lost to Beijing 1-0 away.

Seognam have been given the week off from the K-League so arrived in Melbourne early, in contrast to Melbourne only having a 48 hour turnaround after their 2-2 draw v Sydney.

Seognam features the Og monster, Melbourne should have Kruse and Thompson back.

Half an hour to game start, as I write this in another feature Changchun are leading Persipura Jayapura from Indonesia 7-0 after 75min in below freezing temperatures, on a pitch that makes Beijing Workers Stadium the other week look good.

The crowd will be under 10,000. Lowest crowd ever, i'd say.

8-0 in Changchun, Changchun player unmarked in the box, but mis-hit it and had no power on the shot. However terrible miss by the Indonesian keeper who seemed to sweep it into his own net with his hand!

Presume webstream from Melbourne in ten mins time will be nelliek via Justin TV as usual.

9-0 now. Memo to Persipura defender - don't body check your own keeper.

Memo to MBH - if you want a Champions League that people will take seriously kick these Indonesians out and admit a third A-League team (us).

I really do wish we were playing Melb this weekend - they are going to be bloody tired after this

You are right about the crowd. Why so small?

Pitch looks shocking still.

No Muscat, Thompson on bench. Ognenovski is Seognam captain.

Hernandez also on bench. Perhaps Merrick is planning to win this in the second half.

Melbourne looking dangerous though, winning corners and a good attack just now.

Seognam will be used to playing in front of small crowds if their home average is less than 5000. And they're owned by the Moonies.

Korean player violates Kruse

Hilarious petulance from Kruse. And another testicle incident to add to his resume.

That was bizarre. For those not watching, Kruse fouled by Seognam player, Kruse elbows Seognam player in face when getting up. A moment later Seognam player stands next to Kruse, grabs his nuts, Kruse falls to ground. "maybe he fancies him" the quote from Slater.

Kruse for the Matildas, Seongnam player just checked his eligibility!

Did the player get a red card for fondling his vag?

Kruse acts like a spoilt schoolgirl so you can hardly blame the Korean having a quick check.

Mrdja milks another yellow for the Korean defender. Can't see this one finishing without a sendoff.

I love Simon Hill's comment.

Not seen by ref.

Slater having fun with his quotes..."he had a fiddle".

More goals in this one yet, potentially at either end.

Execrable defending that led to the goal. Who was that who thought it might be fun to play keepy uppy 6 yards out from his own goal line? Broxham? The ball need to be whomped upfield as far as possible.

How many games are in the pool stages? If Melb lose this, are they in danger of not making it out of their pool?

If they lose this they have almost no chance of getting through

Home and away against each of the other three teams in the group.

Why, barring Adelaide in that one campaign, do Australian teams not do nearly as well as they should in Asia?

Pretty tough for Melb playing 2 days after the Sydney game - were always going to struggle

Melbourne do look tired.

Only consolation perhaps is that Seognam also beat Kawasaki away so if they can get up in Japan they might still have a chance, however that game is only a couple of days after the grand final.

The laptop has sound, but it's attached to Mrs News fingers currently and trying to steal it would result in injury.

Ironic that the MOM in both Melbourne's games so far have been Aussies - for the opposition.

Kawasaki v Beijing, 1-1 at half time, is being played in a heavy snowstorm with a layer of snow on the ground, crazy conditions.
