Two of the worst CBs ever to play for Oz surely. Every time I hear Cornflake's name mentioned I shake my head in wonderment

Are we lucky to have Kiwi Dura on our side?

And why was there no oMANi on the near post for that corner where they conceded???

Oman are ranked 17 places below us, and 2 places below New Caledonia. Hilarious.

Based on performances so far the odds look quite slim of seeing NZ or Oz in Brazil.

Difference is that we were picking up the results we needed, but Australia simply are not.

They are still second with 3 games to go.

To be fair theirs is a tougher assignment, but even so they have been lacklustre, disorganised and very fragile on defence.

And still have the back up of finishing 3rd for the play offs.

4th June - Japan v Aussie
11th June - Aussie v Jordan
18th June - Aussie v Iraq

Would back them to pick up the 6 points at home.

Aussie will qualify (i.e., finish 2nd in their group). I'll be flabbergasted if they don't...

Jordan beat Japan ... that throws a massive spanner into the works.

Have to laugh at Holger blaming the youth not stepping up while starting only two players under 25, one of whom (apparently from what I have read) had quite a good game.  Only three under 25 in the squad!!

My own reading of the game is that the players on the park did not have enough opportunity to play together often enough. They may be OK on their individual own (and some still damn good like Cahill or even Schwarzer), but they clearly do not play together often enough to gel well. Hence NZ looked OK against New Caledonia with most of the team mostly familiar with each other, sort of.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days
