Melb are screwed. Went from having 4 strikers this season (Archie, Fab, Allsopp, Elasi) to 1 kind-of-striker in Kruse and he's injured too.

Finish 3rd, miss qualifying for Asian Champions League, miss back to back Premierships and end up starting fights with Melbourne Heart fans because you're bored of fighting Sydney and Adelaide?

You joke at the moment. Wait until it becomes a reality.

Pretty sure we're going to do that anyway, Didds.

Apparently they've been allowed to sign Mirdja on loan from CCM until August. Absolutely disgraceful. What's the point of a squad if you can go and bring somone else in just because two people are injured for a few weeks? How about a rule that says no loans are allowed if one of your players is suspended!! I hope they get battered in the play offs.

So Mrdja won't be in Wellington next week?
That's actually great.

Meh,whats the point in a salary cap if your going to break it...not mentioning names. But the owner is rather large.
Salary cap...more like celery cap. No wonder he ignores it.
Dont worry,im getting me coat now.

Mrdja's hasn't been too crash hot for a long time now, but man, if CCM were still alive, they wouldn't have let him go.

class! So Archie's injury is as a result of Durante's tackle isn't it? If so then I'm pleased as punch that I just purchased a Durante shirt.
Still laughing at celery cap joke.loyalgunner2010-02-06 12:31:30

Mrjda reminded me of a mini-Mark Viduka last night, a big man that can hold the ball up. Good pick up, albeit temporarily for MVFC.
On your comment above, Mrjda will do good at MVFC, as he will get better service from his midfield.
CCM's midfield was crap this year.

Kemp out for 9 months!! Who will they sign now? Some part of me thinks there is poetic justice in that!

well there are 4 sides out of the finals now,so maybe theyll be allowed to sign from that pool of players. Robbie fowler perhaps?

yeah, there certainly is some irony in that. gotta feel bad for the guy though. 9 months is a LONG time!
I was under the impression that an ACL would heal quicker than that. damn it, we want to cure cancer but we still take 9 months to heal a bloody knee!!!
Ah, and yesterday on National Geographic I read that making Mars habitable will probably take around a thousand years..
don't hold your breath guys.

Fox Sports Australia today was saying that Fury won't allow Fowler to go to Adelaide as they fear 'they will lose him completely' if he goes on loan.
Wonder what the Fury would say if Melbourne tried to sign Fowler for the Champs League... (he'd enjoy Melbourne, less humid than Townsville and certainly more "European-like" city is Melbourne than Townsville.

Just bad luck, Kemp has done nothing wrong, he didn't sign Mrjda.
Sounds like Central Coast 'released' Mrjda, MVFC signed him as a 'free agent' and Central Coast signed him as a 'free agent' again after Victory's deal expired.
Cheeky but legal.
ALSO, if Pjoenix signed a 'free agent' like Edgar Davids (or Patrick Kluivert) tomorrow, it's legal and you guys wouldn't complain, so shut the f..k up.

So a guy is going to another club for a short time, then returning to the original club after a specified time period. So why not call it a loan? Oh, thats right.... that annoying transfer window thing. Legal maybe, ethical no.

No complaints here mate, you'll have to call the FFA or FIFA to change it.

Like I said before, it's cheeky what they did (i.e. techincally make Mrjda a free agent so that MVFC could sign him up to June 30, then CCM takes over his contract after that) but legal, so you can't knock them for flouting the rules. Rules are there to be broken sometimes.
Look at the court case in Australia this week about Men at Work and their song 'land down under', the company suing them won but lost credibility in the process doing it.
The legal system stinks at times. The law is an a.ss as they say.

Hopefully they will close the loophole, like they did with the injury replacement wages being outside the salary cap issue.
Might be worth considering a deadline for rosters to become fixed for the final part of the season and final series.

It's good to, for once, be on the side that utilizes a legal loophole, rather than always being on the side that bitches about them.

My point entirely. What I want to know is who induced who to do what? He didn't suddenly become a free agent for nothing.

You think there was a sneaky payment involved? Is an interesting point. Id guess though it was more along the lines of "you dont have to pay his wages until next season rolls round (your out of finals anyway)...we get a player for the finals...win win" so no payment made.
