No Durante, McKain, Dodd, Muscat, Hearfield, Ferrante.

Do any deserve a place?

They seem to have an anti-Phoenix campaign.

For me on current form maybe only McKain may have deserved a go.To be honest though none have been that consistant all season. To often a good performance has been followed by a mediocre one.

Yeah, McKain has been to inconsistent for me. Dylan McAllister and Dean Heffernan are the two names jumping out at as me being dubious

He should have given Ljubo Milicevic a go. Apparently he's making a comeback...

Travis Dodd has to be the biggest surprise one of the best players in the A-league and the ACL and he doesn't get picked, wth is up with that?

Ruka is overseas and Wyners doesn't want to apply for triple residency.

Given that squad, I'd go with a starting XI of...

Theoklitos
Cole-Moore-Vargas-Jamieson
El**ch-Reid-McKay-Zullo
A.Thompson-Allsopp

Topor-Stanley?  Can Verbeek not see what a disaster waiting to happen this guy is?

Re McKain, I don't think you can say he's unlucky. He was excellent yesterday but for someone with his pedigree he has coasted too often imo. Perhaps we could pay Verbeek to watch him every week.

McKain is the only one of our boys who would come close...no disrespect to the rest of them but im sure they'd admit it too

T Dodd should've made that squad easily

still a pretty decent looknig squad though

I think thats a really average squad, especially at the back.  Galecovic, Moore, Vargas, El**ch, Jamieson is very very weak.

I think they'll get beaten

Normo's coming home

Theo and Galekovic the two best keepers?
Maybe, but I kind of like Covic. He's a man mountain and has had to endure being behind the average Jets defence this season. He's played well at times when his team was woeful, such as when he was single handedly keeping his 9 man team in the game (for most of it) against the Nix

Yeah, I thought Covic was one of the best three Aussie keepers in the league this season too.

Indonesia is a terrible team (they would come last in the A-League easily) so they should be fine if they can handle the heat+crowd. Think that is why Verbeek has picked hard grafters who will run 90 mins like Reid/McKay instead of guys like Dodd who can't defend for sh*t and get tired easily. McKain looks like he carries a bit too much weight too so that probably influenced his decision.

Theo has been the best A-League keeper 2 years in a row (been a bit off this season though) so he deserves a call up.

Covic has made some horrible howlers this season though. Things like that get noticed, no matter how many good saves a keeper pulls off.

But so did Theoklitos when he was with the Knights. That's what happens with sh*te teams.
Last year Newcastle won and Covic was one of the best keepers. Still is

I agree that the backline looks weak. Though Durante's been injured a little, i thought they may have considered him. Look at last year, he was excellent - and wasnt he MVP in the final? i guess verbeek must be picking strictly on current form?
