THey had changed the configuration of the stadium, moved the sides in to make it more appropriate for rectangular field sports

FFA wanted to show off to a junket of sports journos over here to report on Oz's WC bid, so they moved the seating in. When the stadium was built they made a big deal about this feature, and yet they've hardly ever used it. Word is they won't be doing it again in the near future, including when Victory play their "blockbuster" games at Etihad, after we've moved into Bubbledome. Etihad Stadium is a pain in our balls tbh.

It seemed to create a great atmoshphere (not that Etihad seemed bad in atmosphere terms before). Wouldn't it make sense to keep doing until the end of the season, since AFL is finished?

I thought they played one day cricket there ? Not sure though.

I can't figure out that seat extension thing. Can they all just roll out? or are they brought in from somewhere else?
Someone please explain better!

It's not a five minute job but the seats can be moved out from where they normally sit.  ALways part of the design.

How's my driving? - Whine here

You said they moved the seating in..
In from where?

In from somewhere else in the city or move in closer to the pitch?

People move in homes.. It could mean, they are moving in from the front lawn or from somewhere further away..

Choose your words carefully kp.

Hopefully the new layout makes it possible to watch the game from where away fans go.
You know we belong together...

I seriously doubt they'll 'move the seating out from their original position within the stadium' again for us.

By the looks of those videos and the TV footage, that the away bay is neglected and is hidden away.
My guess is that this is the view from the away bay.

And look in the corners of this picture.
It looks like they lose seats when they do this.

Nah we need something orignal for something like that not copying Melbourne something that would be a tradition for us, like shirts off at 80 mins if we are winning

So basically what HN said

one section - we're aisle, we're aisle, we're aisle 21.
other section - we're aisle, we're aisle, we're aisle 22.

Try that.

The away fans are shifted to the western stand, (i.e. behind the coaches) and close to the Latrobe Street (northern) end of the ground.

MVFC members got a letter advising of the re-configured seats prior to the game.

If any of you are coming over for the Jan 26 game, I'd seriously campaign to get it done, you blokes that have seen Etihad to date haven't been given 'full justice' until you're close in.

You guys would appreciate it, and be closer to Herbert to yell at him mid-game if need be.

For you guys' first game, Beanhead stole the sheets from his hostel, bought a can of spray paint, and made the "Dear Ross..." banner. Whole operation took about 30 minutes.

I was thinking a nice hand written note to Bin Hamman formally inviting him for a luncheon.

I feel a proper banner thread coming on in the near future.

I feel it will fail like all the others though.

I look at this one often.
