Anyone else noticed that the fox sports site is stuck about 45 mins into the Sydney game? I have Gameiro as my Captain so am a little miffed he hasn't got any points for his goal yet.

I see Fox are still struggling to get the points sorted for the first gameweek. Hope this is not a sign of things to come. Although, I don't recall this happening last season.

55 points, not a bad start considering I don't tend to know many players outside the Phoenix and left $25,000 in the bank.

Good score ajc, nice start to the season. I always find maintaining the standard is the hardest.

Yep the scoring has been whack this weekend. A bit strange as Fox Sports is usually pretty reliable. It's still listing me as having 17 points even though I got 65. Picked 5 goal scorers so I'm pretty happy.

A welcome surprise ....I grab second place behind Wanganui Braves. Really pleased about that, as Braves Manager, Colin also leads the whole of Fox Sports. Well done Colin, excellent gameweek!

I share your problem holeinone. We've peaked a little early. (lol)

I still had a good round despite mistakenly picking some players in my squad who didn't play.

Permalink Permalink

I had the crappiest of crap rounds. 26 points from the 8 players in my squad that played. Seriously considering playing my wildcard this round.

Villa leaving has freed up some funds for me. Already had $45,000 in the bank so have been able to swap him out and bring Berisha in and still have $69,000 left over for next week or when I use the wildcard.

finally . moving on up across all groups

Happy with 82 points this round, largely thanks to captaining Thompson. Only had 8 playing players too as I had 5 WSW and CCM players, then one of my others didn't play.

Captain Burns got me some!

I had Wee Mac captain, and Burns VC. Should have reversed them.

Had berisha as Captain. Very handy for me. Up to 8th overall which is a bit weird. Long way to fall from here!

Well that's my wildcard used...

Nope. Bench is full of roar players. Might be hard week this week.

Permalink Permalink

I had to use my wildcard last week. I had a good week but it seems like everyone did considering heaps of people have Berisha as captain.

I went Broich out for Carrusca this week, since Broich isn't playing and is $25k more expensive than Carrusca.

He's currently on 8 points which will go up to 11 points when the Alex Tobin points go through. #winning

Ugh. 29 points this week. Should have used wildcard. Down to 61st overall.

Trying to decide whether to cull Broich or not. Head says yes (frees up so much money), heart says no (has always done so well for me in the past)...

Berisha and Delpierre being out put me in a tough spot. Finkler was my vice captain though and has come through nicely.

R6 & R7 international call up summary

To miss R6 (both DGW fixtures in the case of Roux & Topor-Stanley):
Antonis, McKay, Milligan, Nichols, Mooy and Topor-Stanley named in Socceroos squad travelling to Japan
Boxall, Doyle, Fenton, McGlinchey, Barbarouses, Boyd and Brockie will miss R6 with trip to China
Georgievski and Janko called up by Macedonia and Austria respectively for Euro qualifiers
Gameiro, Geria, Pain, Woodcock, Mauk, Maclaren, Hoole, Hall, Galloway, Duncan, Donachie, Brown on Olyroos trip to China

R7:
3 day turnaround with flight back from Japan means Milligan, McKay & Nichols reasonable doubts for R7
Boxall, Doyle, Fenton, McGlinchey, Barbarouses, Boyd and Brockie doubts for R7 with 3 day turnaround flying to Perth from Thailand (hopefully directly) (Roux should be fine, 4 day turnaround)
Janko has a 3.5 day turnaround with flight from Europe, with his age and the travel involved unlikely to start R7 (Georgievski should be fine with 5 day turnaround)

did it work? or are you now just stuck with six Dud's

Having lots of Wanderers didn't work for me because Popovic decided to rest most of his first team in Perth. Therefore those guys only played one game. Having Wanderers is a big risk because Popovic changes his team week to week.

Exactly the same tactic backfired on me too. Time to ship them out.

CCM guys were cheap squad fillers but it didn't work out very well because of WSW's squad rotation. Picked guys i thought would play both and they only played 1 game. Poppa makes guessing his line up really hard.
