I understand the argument and I see the concern, however on balance surely this is a good thing? Rich committed owners, top quality players, potential global exposure - all good things for the competition as a whole. Much better than having the Heart as they were carrying on I would think.
Depends on what you regards as a 'good thing'. Players like ADP and Villa (and future stars) bring a few more spectators to the games and on the TV, future TV deals (shared equally) and sponsorships (all clubs should benefit, some more than others) are probably valued a bit higher. Makes current teams more sustainable/able to spend at or over the salary cap more often hopefully on better players. Though, it could mean a slight decrease in the competitiveness of the league (trending over a lengthy period of time).

I agree with this. Aussie teams have been pretty successful bringing guys back from overseas but the stars of the show are still the foreigners. Things are going well, why change now?
