Nice one. You're not part of Martin's guest think-tank by any chance?

I agree. In an ideal world we would have additional franchises in Christchurch in Auckland. There just isn't a way to make the ABSP into a meaningful competition.

I think New Zealand and Australia should develop the two countries, one league system as used in the USA and Canada. The Canadians tried national leagues in their own right but have failed at each attempt. The only way for sustainable competitive football for Canadian clubs is to compete in the US leagues (MLS, USL etc). I think a similar model for New Zealand in Australia is a good idea but NZ definitely needs more than one sustainable club within that structure to make it viable.

Hehe, I wish I was. Unfortunately, just a fan of the Kiwi game having my two cents' worth. :)

In the A League having an open goal is the best form of defence. We should just do away with Moss and hire another not a striker.

We are getting written off early. How are we behind  WSW and Brisbane who have lost so many players?

And Brisbane have no money and just signed Aliosi as manager

I thought I read somewhere that the 2015/16 season draw would be announced in June.

Well it's now June...

Need to organise home and away trips and non-essential events around the draw.

Hurry up June/HAL.

They want the Grand Final to be the 1st Sunday in May, so what is 29 weeks before then?

Thanks.  1 May 2016 is a Sunday so that means weekend of 10, 11 October 2015 is 29 weeks beforehand.

Last weekend of the school term break.

They may do the 3 games in 14 days thing over the Xmas/New Year break, so maybe looking at 18th/19th I guess.

I will go for 10/11 October as the start date as I hope it can be sooner rather than later.

From and including: Tuesday, 16 June 2015
To, but not including Saturday, 10 October 2015

Result: 116 days

(115 days if it starts on Friday 9 October)

Yep, last season started on 10th Oct but finished on 17th May

But had a two-three week break for the Asian Cup, meaning a 1 May final would work well from that start date next season.

That's ridiculous - not only that the restriction exists but that they are enforcing it too

Fifa statute.

Well, that would be the TAB fudgeed here.  Most of their take on football will be players at some level.

FFA doesn't want registered players betting in case they (somehow....) manipulate outcomes.

FFA manipulated the outcome because of their relationship with betting agencies last season by making Perth finish 7th instead of last.

FFA advertise football betting on an article about how registered players can't bet on football (as above).

Full circle hypocrites.
