NZF are so bad that they make the FFA look good. That said, the FFA are not good so it shows you just how bad the NZF really are.

Like wow how silly of me to even contemplate a NZ administration could not be anything other than perfect and that all faults lie with the evil FFA lead by their malicious, vile, CEO who is known for his wickedness and contempt for lowing beings.

Must be difficult to be perfect in every way and forced to endure the incompetence, ineptitude and hopeless ineffectiveness that is FFA administration.

Adding to this must be their [FFA] inability and incapacity to understand the NZ and Wellington issues. The failure of FFA to be on bended knee and knell before the perfect, flawless, impeccable, NZ administrators is amazing and I too would be angry, incensed, outraged, fuming and infuriated at this lack of recognition by the mischievous and hateful Gallop who we all know is out to damage NZ Football.

I don't think you will find many people defending NZF here, but I really don't see how that's relevant to the fact that the FFA fudged the Nix around with the license extension. It is perfectly possible to think both national bodies are fudgewits

While FFA are not perfect nay a long way from perfect they are not that bad either.

Last year FFA had a revenue of 130 million which was boasted by a 20 million sale of WSW.

They have close to 50 million in sponsorship, and to compare The NRL has 27 million and ARU 29 million, the AFL 58 million.

They managed the Asian Cup and where praised by all of Asia and twas said FFA provided the best Asian Cup so far.

I could go on, like making the last 3 WC's, however there have also been so not so good and some down right hard to understand.

But on balance they are reasonable.

On the Nix licence renewal, I think if you can only see one side of it then so be it as its your club. If you hand on heart not the other thing believe its was all Gallop and FFA's fault then as I said so be it......I don't ... I think there were a number of issues and lets be thankful its worked out for the best in the end.

As to the new guy, he has a lifelong Football background, has a very impressive business CV, and held very senior roles in Football in Australia he seems an excellent choice.

The new guy as reported by News said in part the following and this did impress me.

””And with an extensive background in football as a former chairman of Football NSW and former president of NSW’s Sutherland Shire Football Association which has more registered players than Football Federation SA, O’Rourke claimed the game was far from united.

“The game is not aligned and there is many sort of steps that need to be unlocked,’’ he said.

“The relationships between the grassroots and most levels of governance, many of those doors aren’t opened. “I’ve seen the ability to go and unlock most of those doors.”””

Just on the hopeless, inept incompetent FFA .... consider

The global audience reach of the Hyundai A-League will hit a potential 250 million viewers this season under the international broadcast and digital streaming arrangements, Football Federation Australia (FFA) has confirmed today.

There are 84 countries with broadcast agreements covering A-League matches as well as a global streaming deal with www.livesport.tv that means all 135 regular season matches and 6 Hyundai A-League 2016 Finals Series can be watched on line.

and http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2016/03/a-league-popul...

New research data suggests A-League has grown to become more popular with Australians than English Premier League.

According to Roy Morgan Research, in 2015, 2.1 million Aussies (or 11.0% of the population) reported watching A-League football (soccer) on TV either regularly or occasionally, up from 1.4 million viewers (7.6%) in 2011.

Young men aged under 25 are the most avid viewers, with 19.6% of them watching A-Leaguematches on TV either occasionally or almost always (up from 13.3% in 2011), but there has been a consistent upturn among men of all ages. Women, too, are more likely than ever to watch the A-League on TV, with increases across all age groups.

I didn't say it was all the FFA's fault, but a lot of it was. AFC don't have a problem with the Nix so the only reason we weren't given a license renewal at the same time and on the same terms as the other 9 clubs was because the FFA chose not to. Yes, we are a kiwi club in an Aussie competition but we are also one of the most stable clubs under our current ownership group. At a time when the Jets were being run by the FFA, Brisbane weren't paying their bills, and your own club was asking it's players to play to attend their own awards ceremony, plus Gold Coast and NQF having recently folded, and the Heart going close before the City buyout, it looks ridiculously petty to treat the Nix the way they did.

The whole argument that they are funding NZ football through the whole salary cap was bollocks too. Look how many of our players are Australian, and then the 5 imports which an Aussie team would have too. And the TV deal stuff in NZ was stupid - blaming the Nix for a deal they weren't party to. And Sky NZ might not pay much for the rights but they pay for the production costs of 1/10th of the games in a regular season , and NZ gives an additional potential market the size of Sydney or Melbourne.

Even the fudgeing metrics the FFA made a big deal out of weren't that bad.

So you can see why Nix fans might feel that the FFA is anti-kiwi.

As for the rest of what you posted I'm not sure how that's relevant to the issue of the Nix in the A League, but it also is only talking about one aspect of their governance. Remember how badly they handled the active supporter issue last year too.

To be fair the new guy sounds alright, I'm glad he's talking expansion because I think it's something the league needs to not go stale. I just hope they expand smart instead of just cramming more Sydney and Melbourne teams in because of an obsession with derbies.

OK I don't want to argue as it gets nowhere .... all I am saying their where a number of issues and lets be thankful they are today understood by those that need to understand them ..... I hopefully include NZF in this as well.

Issues which only existed because the FFA (and maybe Fox) made them. Everyone else - FIFA, AFC, OFC, NZF, the Nix, the other clubs - was happy with the status quo. And they've only been half worked out - we got 3 years with targets to meet for an extension, every other club got 20 years.

You came on here slagging us off for being sceptical of the FFA's position re: our club then try to claim you don't want to argue about it.Maybe think about how you would feel if the FFA just arbitrarily decided that CCM had to adhere to higher standards than any other club and threatened to take the licence and give it to South Sydney, while giving other clubs which were on the verge of collapse unconditional 20 year licences. All the while spreading misinformation and outright lies about the situation in the media as negotiations were ongoing.

Yes, we are bitter. Who wouldn't be after that treatment?

The Mariners are under no illusion we have to met certain KPI's not to be kicked out. If we don't met them or offer something else then its our own fault.

Mike Charlesworth said in a forum with fans our insurance against being kicked out is the COE...  the granting of the licenses to the 9 A-League Australian based clubs requires meeting critical targets otherwise FFA can revoke their licence.

Your words slang off ..... for the love of Mary ... anyway your call I am over it .. I am happy its all over ..

Do you honestly think that the Nix haven't been given tougher KPIs than the other clubs?

As for the last bit, someone suggested that the FFA and Gallop are anti-Nix and you straight up say they have a chip on their shoulder and are seeing things that aren't there.

Now the new head of the league is saying his key priority is making sure the existing clubs are solvent, yet 6 months ago they wanted to kick a financially stable club with committed owners out of the league in order to create a new club which cannibalized the market of one of their big boys. All while they couldn't find an owner for another club and several other clubs were in varying degrees of financial distress.

But yeah, we have a chip on our shoulder for being pissed off at that.

Seems a good choice, live long involvement in Football, very impressive business background.

He wants expansion which is also good.

No doubt bitters will try and find ways to find fault with his appointment.

Hopefully he respects NZ football and the phoinex unlike David Galop

I understand via two medical Doctors over here Dr Hackem and Dr Slashem that there is a new Doctor in Auckland who should be able to help you get that chip off your shoulder .... otherwise it can wear you down with worry about things that don't exist.

The phrase "squatting on a license ... "

One word: DERBIES

I'm just connecting the dots after our license shambles and the new boss of the league being pro-expansion, linked to football with South Sydney, and previously involved with setting up WSW

Timmy ...hhhmm you think would be in Melbourne if he is going to City.

Expansion.... GO has been talking about it, maybe interested parties in certain areas... If this is the case the next media deal is looking good...

New sponsor...

Major tie up with FIFA re new rules.

New media deal...

Optus to take over the broadcast from SBS...

Some Marquee players signed..

Could also be 10 getting the last year rights off SBS...I have always through a FTA would like a little taste to see what Football could do.

If a broadcast deal and it is 10  taking the SBS rights and they hinted recently they wanted Saturday night and with the EPl gone Fox may have agreed.

Especially as there are a couple of big Socceroo matches coming up ... the Japan match with the right PR could send rating through the roof...

If they were changing the sponsor, maybe. But a renewal isn't really, especially after all the Cahill speculation that the A-League have been intentionally placing in the spotlight of the media. A significant announcement if something had significantly changed, but I presume it hasn't.
