Call it off.  It's worse than Karori Park.

Guts GCU karma.

Common sense prevails. Not that I like Palmer but that's bad luck for the club at at time when it is struggling to (re)gain a profile on the Gold Coast.

bugger.. was looking forward to some messy awkward football goals and failures.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Not sure why it's a PR disaster.  Just reschedule the game and open the gates again.  If there are 21 thousand who are keen to come when it's free, surely that won't change in a month or so, or whenever it's rescheduled.  Just need a fine day.

my question is how does a field get in such bad condition? Surely they have drainage?
I'm going to try find out what it is this week but I don't think it's a drainage issue. Seams to me like the grass has a disease of some sort and is just dying out, exposing the soil. Wet/warm weather is perfect conditions for the spread of disease in turf. That's just a complete guess though.

Ah right, sounds about right I thought the grass looked quite dead last week when I was at skilled park, I just don't understand how the field isn't in this type of condition for the NRL season.
That mixed with the massive amount of rain. We have no problem with drainage at westpac and that game against GCU earlier in the year when we had 80mm in two hours was almost called off. Just to much rain falling in a short period of time. I suspect it's a similar situation over there now as well as the other problems they're having.

Fuck this stupid game

The NRL season is in the winter.
The winter season is the dry season. The sun shines all day every day for 6 months.
The rainy season is in the summer.
The Gold Coast has had over 200m of rain this month alone. Hope that clears a few thing up.

Not as bad as the Dadi incident.

In the match preview I said then that the game should not be played.

You only had to see the water on top to know that the game would not be completed.
