Kalfallah sets up pasta-man Macaroni, who finishes well. Roar 1-0 at oranges.

Right on half time Macaroni went down like a piece of soft cheese in the box. If no pen, why not simulation?

Roar paying big time for missed chances. Really classy Perth goals too. Castro makes me swoon like a schoolgirl.

Clearly Roar players have been taking lessons in "Defending The Game Result For Beginners, Grade 1" from The Nix.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

If we are worse than WSW then we are bad.

To be fair, it's not just that they're bad (they are) but Jets are really playing great footy. That 2nd goal seals it.

Ernie has got Newcastle humming, good on him.

I thought Roly only got kicked about while playing for us. But he's being kicked just as much playing for WSW.

And a lovely header from Kantarovski gives the Jets a 3:0 lead.

This is a very demoralised WSW outfit, massive difference from the first couple of games of the season when they looked solid and full of promise. I'd blame the assistant coach but under him they looked infinitely better than they do now!

So close to five - nil. The Jets are playing attacking football to the final whistle.

That was a great show of "what to do in the second half when you're already leading".

Adelaide 1-0 v CCM approaching half time. Entertaining game. Powell, Appiah, Lia and Roux all heavily involved. Paul Izzo with a great reflex safemidwsy thru first half. Good weather, kick off after Boxing Day test close of play, decent crowd.

I haven’t watched Adelaide for a while. Isais on the ball is a beautiful thing.

Finishes 1-0. Adelaide sat off and deep throughout second half. They were well organised but mariners didn’t have the quality to create too many chances. RB Ryan strain impressed and kept pain quiet.

I'm sure that pattern has been similar in other seasons - refs don't penalise lots of fouls and it incentives teams using fouls as a tactic of breaking up the opposition attack and resetting their defence. SFC modus operandi under Arnie.

They love to break down things in the midfield with a minor nudge here & there, just never enough to warrant a yellow. Part of what makes their midfield so hard to crack
