Draw for the 1st, and WSW to smash the jets.

Heart wearing shirts with twitter names on back.

Smeltz back for Glory

If I'm honest I'm almost at the point of wanting to see Perth lose every week just we can avoid the wooden spoon. Don't think I could stomach Slater's smug 'told you so' having predicted pre-season we would finish bottom.

Heart looking the better team after 15min.

Waiting for Jamie Coyne to make a major clanger tonight for heart.

We didn't have to wait long. Pity Shmeltz couldn't put it away.

1-0 heart
Kalmar free kick

Vuko seemed a bit slow to react there. Looks porky to me.

Permalink Permalink

Should have been 2. Game starting to open up.

Yep Vuko does look like hes carrying a few xtra kilos.

Not a bad game so far. Chances at both ends. Perth has wasted a couple of good chances with poor decision making.

Smeltz getting a tad upset with the service he is not getting.

H/T 1-0

Smeltz looks pretty sharp. Getting himself into good positions, protecting the ball well, but missed that easy chance.

Exhibit Z in the case against A League refs: he blows for HT just as a pass is made to an unmarked Heart player inside the box. Ridiculous when you contrast it with the usual propensity for refs to play on and on and on way past the limit of time added on. To this day it still burns me up inside when I think of the late winner Australia got against the AWs a few years back because in the extra 3 minutes which had no injury or sub stoppages the ref contrived to add another 30 seconds while Oz had possession.

Nice elbow to the ribcage from Heffernan. Dirty little player.

Dodd subbed, has not done much today

Draw would be good, but can live with Glory losing. Still time for heart to cock this up.

Too polite by half, Crewemad. Heffernan is a thuggish prick. Has made a career out of grievous elbow harm.

F/T 2-0 Heart. Scrappy 2nd half but heart deserved the win. Kalmar great effort tonight.

Not the best for the nix but still not last:)

WSW v Jets about to kick off, hope to some goals.

Dino still holds his spot up front for WSW, only 1 goal all season.

Game at Campbelltown.

Should be an easy win for WSW but got a hunch it'll go pear shaped for them.

If Hersi had made that tackle last night he would've got a straight red.

Yep. its a shame for the league that the ref's are shite.

Good chance for Jets, love the comitment from the wanderers player. Put there bodies on the line every match

Goal for Hersi 1-0 WSW, had been building for a few minutes

H/T 1-0 WSW

Jets have played okay, but last 10 mins were getting outplayed and giving away silly fouls and passes going astray.

WSW have pressed well and played some nice football.

Going to get shot for saying this, Dino is the kind of player the nix could use upfront with our current style, may not score many if any, but works his butt off defending from the front, okay in the air and can hold the ball up.

In that case I'd sadly have to say that I'll be part of the firing squad. Although in an odd kind of way Kresinger is so shit that he would fit into the current Nix set up perfectly.

Kind of reminds me of D-Mac and thought he did okay with us. Now going to dig a hole and lie low

Heskey looks poor tonight, has been a passenger for most of the game. Can only think of 1 chance in the first half.

Crowd over 10500 for this game.

DMac I'll give you but he at least scored 7 or 8 goals. I likewise ended up respecting him because he was very hard working and committed. But back in his CCM days as 3rd string striker he truly earned his donkey tag.

It is really great to see them doing well, but is it really as big a surprise as people are making it?

Tonight's starting line up had 6 imports, 4 current or former Socceroos, and a former u23 Socceroo. Even their bench had 1 former Socceroo.

4 of the 5 Aussies starting have over 95 A-League caps. I wanted to say 100, but Covic is only 98. Combined it is over 500 caps. And 3 of those Aussies are former A-League winners with the Jets.

Not a big surprise, but poppa has made the team gel very quickly. Some of those A-League player looked rank last season at there old clubs eg: Bridge, Haliti,Minniecon,Cole,D'Apuzzo and even NTS is playing the best I have ever seen.

Popovic has done fantastic, not trying to take anything away from him. Just pointing out how well he recruited but it isn't as if he plucked 11 guys from the State leagues or anything.

True, would be a different looking team. They have built a solid defence and I think one of the best midfields in the league.

Squad depth is one of the best, think he has used most of the squad this season without too many hicups (apart from the start when they could not score, but still picked up points).

Big test will be the next couple of seasons when the expectations are higher and FFA don't run them.
