From the A-League website:

http://www.a-league.com.au/default.aspx?s=newsdisplay&id=30343

"But McBreen has hinted that he'll stay loyal to the club where he's re-discovered his form and love for the game."

Great form shown when Talay played that sneaky through ball from the dropped ball

To be honest many on here under-rate him just because he can't finish. Yet there is double standards for when discussing our own players.

He's a whining, talentless over-rated lump.  All he has going for him is that he's tall.

How's my driving? - Whine here

He does win stuff in the air and those knockdowns can be invaluable. Kevin Davies anyone?

Not that I'm saying Kevin Davies has no talent , but look what he can do with his aerial ability alone.
Will probably get absolutely shredded for saying this but ... the number of times we attack down the wings and put balls into the box from there, it actually wouldnt be too bad if we had a player like Mcbreen to head them in.sissoko_no1fan2009-10-30 22:30:47

Heard somewhere the Socceroos are interested in McBreen. Can't say I'd be picking him if I were the Socceroos coach.

I wouldn't be picking him if I was Nighthawkes coach. (Then again even Stefan gets a run for them).Oska2009-11-02 18:39:06

Max Factor is much more of a goal scoring threat for the Nighthawks than McBreen is for the Furries.

He didn't make the squad for the Oman game announced yesterday. If he makes the 'non-European' Aussie team in January, then you know if/where he stands in the order of things.

I think he's done a good job for Fury. Sure he's got a V8 mouth on him but he has been a handful for most defences in the league, he's a big presence in the air, works quite well with Fowler and has actually managed a lot of strikes on goal....although you could argue that his conversion rate is poor.

The thing I do like about him is his determination and his huge appetite for work which has been one of the few constants in Fury's up and down season. I remember when van Dijk first came into the league he was awful until he found his niche 2/3 of the way through the season. McBreen has also been a slow developer but he's coming right and might prove to be a very good signing for CCM.
