Yeah, looking at that list pretty much all of them left for money. They wasted all this money on crap marquee players such as Jardel and Zura when they should use it to keep the good players they had

Lets also not forget that they are having trouble keeping their fans too.

I wonder where most of these guys went?Stefan2009-11-24 21:23:01

Yeah, their zone was terrible on Sunday. Must've been about 60 people I think. Pathetic.

This was taken at the game in the weekend.
Must have been a very wide angle lens to get all the crowd in.

Red n white hoops? Like these? (any excuse to post gratuitous blonde in football kit pic!)

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

thats exactly how i imaginationed them to be.

reading comments about the new sydney team sounds like they'll be decked out in similar colours with some suggesting hoops for them. either way one of the new teams will have a good looking strip (as longas they go for the hooooops)

Melburnian would be OK by me as long as it was Melburnian and not Melburnians.  That 's' could destroy it.  Sporting Melbourne would be OK as well I guess but in all honesty none of the names are very good.  Revolution and Heart are absolutely out of the question.

Also, Jets lost Tim Brown and Vaughn Coveny..

I like Sporting Melbourne.  I still have reservations around fan base.  Surely the Victory have snapped up the majority of football fans there.  I could be wrong but I don't think that too many new fans will be found, even from the supporters of South Melbourne etc.

What a funny away game it would make when Sporting play the Victory at their home ground!

I hope they actually scout people and not just dilute the a-league talent pool

A pox on this club, and all the tip rats that align themselves to it.

A lot of the Melbourne-based 'NSL Bitters' are lining up to support this team. A lot of people that are not happy with Victory may defect also.

Will be interesting, if they meet the FFA's 10,000 crowd average who is anyone to argue?

The derby games though will go off.

This will undoubtedly be good for the league, spreading the word is all well and good but the media and population base is in the metropolitan areas and that's where the majority of the teams should be.  The derby games would be good for the league...and once they get the ground share sorted that will be the premier football area in Aus.

With the introduction of mid-week matches anyone suggest to whoever should know that they should do a Saturday/Wednesday double header: Phoenix v Victory and then Phoenix v Heart in Melbourne.  That would be an awesome away trip

Due to the AFL threatening Melbourne Heart Syndicate with legal action should their official name contain a combination of the words "Melbourne", "Football" or "Club", the Heart Syndicate has announced the new team will play under the name of "iMelbourne 2.0"
