On now SS1

The Heart were diabolically poor against the Jets, managing to lose 2-0 against 10 men.

The Victory will be fuming from last weeks game against the Roar.

But form goes out the window when it's a derby game, even if it's only the A-league.

Should be a decent spectacle, the fullest AAMI has been for some time.

(and if someone else has made another match thread while I'm typing this, again I will be fuming)

That was a shocker of a touch from Worm to give away the ball to Suka

Those two defenders didn't think to track back and get goal side of Kruse? Atrocious defending all round.

Curves it around the defence

Yay Petkovic! Heart's 12th man.
Permalink Permalink

Don't you think Petkovic could have at least dived for that

WHAT A GOAL... SIBON puts it in from 25 yards.

Petkovic was FUMING must have deflected or something. I don't care though because I despise Petkovic.

Also, that teaches Muscat after he got called up for that 'cynical' foul and conceded.

Didn't realize Sibon was any good at FK's

Petkovic was pissed because it went through his wall.

Massive LOL at the MH supporter giving Thompson Tard gestures in the background

He was completely unsighted, yes, but the the expression on his face whenever yet another soft goal goes in cracks me up.

Both teams trying their hardest to give one another goals.

Oh FFS why not just dish up goals for Pigboy on a silver platter.

Thompson is building quite a rep for massive defensive blunders these days.

Pretty much everything Bolton does, any keeper can do better.

Serious question: Does Melbourne Heart represent a certain area of Melbourne?  If not, then why did fans leave Victory for the Heart?

Victory sitting back and the Heart starting to boss the game, would love to see them get another before the half.

Sibon off
Sarkies on

'Well I don't know what to make of this unless Sibon has picked up an injury'

Sarkies did well in his cameo appearance against the jets and started running the midfield for them when he came on, albeit against a very defensive, 10 man Jets outfit

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Shroj was to busy claiming an incorrect offside to mark leijer and ended up scoring an OG. Terrible defending.

I wondered the same thing for a long time, but they both play at the same park and its not like either of them are named, for example, South Melbourne Heart or anything else that would be indicative of representing another area.

So I really dont see why you would be a Victory supporter and then switch to the Heart a few months later. If another Wellington franchise came about next season (for arguments sake only of course) named the Wellington Stallions or whatever, and played at the ROF, Id stay a Phoenix supporter, as Im sure most of us would. Why would you not?

If we signed Muscat, Kruse, Thompson, Leijer, Vargas, Petkovic for next season then I might consider it.

From what I understand there were a lot of "anyone but Victory" supporters around Melbourne from old NSL clubs, so the FFA have tried to give them someone other than Victory. Seemed a bit weird to me. Don't see why someone who hated the A-League then would suddenly jump on the bandwagon now.

There is also a loose geographical connection between Heart and La Trobe University around Bundoora . This is where Heart train, and apparently quite a lot of effort has gone into raising the Heart profile among La Trobe students.

They just did it to create a rivalry and add a new dimension to the league Im guessing. It seems a success though, theyre getting good crowds. What they shoudlve done though is also create a Melbourne trophy or something that can be contested every time the two sides meet or at the last derby of the season or something, just for bragging rights. Well that's that then. Not the draw we were hoping for and MV have leap frogged over us, the heart and the jets.

Just puts a bigger emphasis on the game tonight, really hoping we step up after our recent away form.
