Was apparently reported on Fox Sports Australia late Saturday night that Merrick has signed 2 year contract extension.

My only comment is, why? Not sure what the NZ_based folk know, but a lot of Melbourne based folk aren't happy with old Ernie, despite the 2 titles, many think his tactical nous is poor.
