More dramas in Newcastle.
First Newcastle announce Elrich hasn't agreed to terms for a new contract
Meanwhile, the Newcastle Jets today formally announced players Ali Abbas, Jeremy Brockie and Tarek Elrich will not be re-signing with the Club for the 2012/13 A-League season.
All three players came off-contract at the conclusion of the 2011/12 campaign and the trio will now have the opportunity to continue their careers elsewhere in the A-League or abroad.
Van Egmond thanked Abbas, Brockie and Elrich for their contributions to the Jets.
“We want to thank Jeremy, Ali and Tarek for their efforts during their time in Newcastle,” he said.
“All players have been great contributors to the Club and we wish them all the best for the future.
“With more coaching positions finalised in the next week or so, this gives these players the best opportunity to secure their future.”
The Jets, who are delighted with the signings of Neville and Goodwin, will continue to build their playing roster for season 2012/13.
Elrich gets some love on twitter while Newcastle get attack. Which cause Newcastle to post a second statement.
The Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets wish to clarify a variety of enquiries following the Club’s decision not to offer Tarek Elrich a contract for the 2012/13 season.
The Jets made an original offer to Elrich prior to Christmas (2011), which he and his manager declined, seeking higher payment.
Since then, the coaching and medical team decided that Elrich no longer fitted into their up-tempo plans and did not revisit the offer.
The Club again thanks Elrich for his contribution to the Jets.
The Jets look forward to a number of other announcements, similar to today’s signing of Craig Goodwin and Scott Neville, over the next few months.
Which is then followed by a number of tweet from Elrich...
tarek elrich @elrich11 Read tomorrow's @newcastleherald interesting read.
tarek elrich @elrich11 Just to clear the air @NewcastleJetsFC offer me a contract months ago. It was 20% less then I was already on. I went back with my wage minus
tarek elrich @elrich11 $5000 which is still a pay cut. Don't make me look like I'm asking for more money
tarek elrich @elrich11 @NewcastleJetsFC can't believe this article.

Shit hitting the fan
Thread continuing to deliver hard.
Bit of a clear out happening at the Jets. Last week they fired their scout, and today they dumped 4 people from their community advisory board.
Wonder if its cost cutting, or trying to bring some new blood in.
Possibly the worst promo video ever
hahahahaha...*breath*...hahahahaha
Wow, that & the Sydney one have set the bar high for Clemenger. Lets hope they are up the the challenge.
All that needs is 2B in the background photobombing and it will be perfect.
Article on the BBC Football Website
Found Francis Jeffers (Training with Tramere Rovers) comments interesting when speaking with BBC Radio Merseyside
Referring to his time in the A-League
"The (A) league is probably technically a bit better than here but is not as physical and it suited my style of play."
Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Heskey has signed for $1.2m

Massive crowd waiting for Heskey's arrival at the airport this morning:
Tinklers private company has gone bellyup owing shitloads. Will be interesting to see how long it takes to have a roll on effect with the Jets and Knights as his worth has dropped dramatically in the last couple of months.

Hunter Sports Group was reportedly behind on players' super for Newcastle Knights and salaries for office staff. Tinkler Group Holdings even dared not to pay fees to one of the country’s biggest law firms, Gilbert & Tobin. His private jet is reportedly under a repossession order.
Normally it would be a simple matter for someone of Tinkler’s wealth to simply borrow more money to pay off all these claims. Tinkler makes no bones about his reliance on debt, a strategy that has worked well for him in the past.
Hmmm sounds familar. Can't quite place where from though.
uh oh
uh oh
Squeaky bum time at FFA HQ again? RT @abcnews: More than 200 workers at Nathan Tinkler's Patinack Farm look likely to lose their jobs today
BREAKING: The tax office has moved to wind-up the Newcastle Knights and Jets, over unpaid debts of $2.7m. Story soon http://smh.com.au
Uh Ohhh
Bye bye Jets.
I probably tend to agree . Tinkler was close to walking last year and he has way bigger problems than the Jets and Knights to deal with
Unless someone steps in to take over the license, I doubt they will last until next season. Sigh.

With the new TV deal covering the salary cap, I think they might be able to find a way of continuing. No more cheap tickets & large attendances tho. Heskey won't be staying.
I will miss the Jets.
I will miss the 9 points per season.
With the new TV deal they'll be fine. Good crowds, good stadium - why wouldn't they carry on?

Naenae planes?
The mutual termination of the contract enables the Brazilian to join Sydney FC for the rest of the A-League season as an injury replacement for Pascal Bosschaart.

Looks like the FFA have given the green light.
I noticew that is carefully not mentioned in the story.
