What result would suit us the best?

1-0 to WSW. Corner cross went over, Mooy puts it back in the mixer and gets headed in to the net

I don't care  but lets hope it is better than our game.

1-0 WSW.

What a poor first touch, WSW should have been 2 up  there.

Bit sloppy from both teams, few stray passes giving the other team good counter opportunities it seems

straight red for Hersi, WSW down to 10

Permalink Permalink

Going to be hard to hold out Perth with 10 men.

If Bridge hadn't bungled that chance for 2-0 before Hersi's red card they'd be in the box seat.

Bridge with another chance there, Vuko with the save

Looked horrible but was actually a brilliant save from Covic.

Why the hell didn't Mehmet get a card for that elbow-up shoulder charge?

Haven't been watching the second half, has perth looked like scoring?

Perth have tried really hard, Covic made a few tidy saves to deny them the couple of chances they have had.

Yep, several narrow squeaks and some good Covic saves. Starting to look like it might not be their day though.

Great save

Wanderers have unveiled their brand new English import tonight.

Just not Perth's day. Offside anyways

Great result for WSW. Their defence was outstanding.

That should have been a card, but the red that WSW got should never have been one. Yellow for sure.

Yeah i agree. All this talk of Beckham and we see a Beckham style red card! What happened there was no different to what happens every week, players are man handled off the ball all the time, pushing and shoving and niggle, wouldve liked to have seen the ref show some common sense. Its not like he unleashed a flying kung fu kick

Problem is as soon as you kick out at a player in retaliation you are leaving yourself open to big trouble. But I tend to agree - for me there was an argument that Jamieson, a gobby little shite at the best of times, was very aggressive in his body posture looming over Hersi and screaming in his face. Less a kick than a get-the-fuck-out-of-my-face push.

Reminded me of that ridiculously over-aggressive behaviour from Behich yesterday when he bent right down and screamed abuse at the injured Adelaide man, presumably for playacting, only to see him carried off on a stretcher a minute later!

Was at the game yesterday and I must say I did enjoy reminding all the Glory supporters
around me that we (Phoenix) beat the tiger moths 3-0.

While sitting on the train after the game there was a young Maori boy in a NZ
football top.

I was talking to his mum about all good things Wellington Phoenix and the All Whites
she said that next week her son was off to Barcelona for a three week trial.

He currently plays for Rockingham.

I did wish him all the best regarding the trial and did say if he ever made it professionally
make sure you play for NZ.

The incident involving Youssouf Hersi (Western Sydney Wanderers) in or around the 37th minute of Western Sydney Wanderers’ match against Perth Glory on Sunday afternoon. The MRP has the authority to consider the incident as the player was issued with a direct red card. The MRP confirmed that Youssouf Hersi will serve the Minimum Sanction of two (2) matches, being the Mandatory Match Suspension of one (1) match plus one (1) additional match.

I am concerned we won't be able to score a goal when we play the wanderers.  That Covic is top notch.

And Hyphen is actually looking like a decent center back. Popovic must be a wonder coach!

I kind of like Hyphen but he is quite disaster prone. He's lulling us into a false sense of security at the moment. Comedy gold is surely just around the corner.

He's never been terrible, but the way they are playing suits him. He's always been good in the air but not too quick if you get in behind him. Solution is to play a deep defensive line, and he is all good

Also depends what kind of CB you partner him with, he isn't one that organises the defence. If you tell him where he needs to be, he is pretty good.
