Yeah surely Dura is a shoe in for the bench, personally I think he's better than that Melbourne tw@t.buckinghamnicks2010-03-16 21:18:49

Thompson ahead of Ifill? or Brosque for that matter. Meh Aussies choose it though not surprised.

PFA includes all players in the A-League, whether they are Skippy or not. WPFC players are members of the Aus PFA too if they decide to join up.

How does Ifill get voted 3rd best by players, then a week later the same players vote him to the bench?

It's called tactical voting. The voters split their votes in what they love to elect and what club persona that they have to choose for the team make up. It's all MMP nowdays.

The Kiwis are actually members of the NZPFA

A-League based Kiwi's, or overseas based? I'll double check the A-League ones, but in the meantime, have a look at this, interesting: http://www.pfa.net.au/index.php?id=81

Also check here, it says that McKain and Ferrante are the Nix team reps for the PFA: http://www.pfa.net.au/index.php?id=80

Third best player on the bench and third best team getting only one player? Hmm.

Ifill over Brosque any day, and Durante and McKain should be in there, at the very least. There's my two cents, anyway.

It's a friggin' fiasco. Ifill on the bench and no sign of Durante or McKain? What crap.  Matt Thompson should not be in the team ahead of Ifill and the constant plaudits that that nasty piece of work Kevin Muscat gets are sickening. He's a thug and a tosspot.
Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.

Agreed re Muscat. His game has been error-strewn all season and he's as slow as a wet week. I can only think they voted for him out of pity because he's about come to the end of the line.
Jaw-droppingly ludicrous that Durante went unappreciated; even more so when you see Hyphen's name on the bench.

And, sorry, I don't care how much self-important arm waving and running around in circles Culina did there is no way he was as influential over the course of the season as either Ifill or Corica. He is absurdly overrated.

A-League All-Star team: Eugene Galekovic (Adelaide United), Andrew Durante (Wellington Phoenix) Simon Colosimo (Sydney FC), Kevin Muscat (Melbourne Victory) Dean Heffernan (Central Coast Mariners), Jason Culina (Gold Coast United), Carlos Hernandez(Melbourne Victory), Steve Corica (Sydney FC, captain), Shane Smeltz (Gold Coast United), Archie Thompson (Melbourne Victory), Alex Brosque (Sydney FC). Coach: Ernie Merrick (Melbourne Victory).

Another All Star team for the year, chosen by a fans poll. And Dura got in !! No Ifill again though, despite being third best player in the league..

There is no way Brosque is better than Ifill. No way.

Ifill does have some tough competition there. Striker and Midfielder wise.
Surely he made the bench on that team.
Or if it was a 4-4-2 he would be in there.

I think Stefan is right about the 4-4-2. He was at his best out wide, and the lack of pure wingers in that 4-3-3 probably cost him his spot, as they have gone with 3 central Mids and 3 Central Forwards.

None the less, Ifill would be more useful in that front three than any of them.

You know we belong together...
