Have you reposted it to anybody at World game on SBS?
It would be useful to let them know this is (predictably) going on, so they could name & shame etc.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

I'd imagine similar emails would float around the doom post staff

Reckon that was a great call by the ref. It pains me to say that it was a fantastic tackle by Heffernan.

Sucks for Nabbout. You could see how heavy he fell when his head it his arm, neck muscles were like jelly

Really hope the injury is nowhere near as bad as it looks. Wish him all the best.

Are people actually upset about that email circulated? Although I read it might be a fake, I really can't understand how people are getting wound up about it.

Yep, the Aussie's on twitter are all up in arms about it. Which is ridiculus imo, hence my "journo's being journo's" line.

People looking for trouble are usually going to find it.... minor scuffle between two fans 3 hours after the game... tomorrow morning there's a photo on the front page slamming every fan from both clubs, and ultimately the entire game.

Australians.... a news agency asks its journalists to keep an eye out for stories! Shock horror. Then they have the cheek to ask them to get evidence of said stories. Oh the humanity.

That memo definitely should have been a bit more suggestive as far as inciting violence goes, got to sell papers somehow right.

Good old Archie. Victory 1-0

I hope they are still tired on Saturday.

I had $10 on Archie to score first goal, and have $20 on Melbourne to win.... yet I felt very sad when I saw Muscat cheering like the cock he is when that went in... which makes me realise just how much I hate Muscat. I really hate that guy.

Shit come to think of it I don't know who I hate more Archie or Muscat.

Kosta has set up quite a few goals this year with an inch perfect pass like that one, if only his finishing was better and he would be class.

Edit - I don't usually swear, and presume it's against forum rules, but surely exceptions are made when talking about Muscat.

well!

super goal from Kosta.

I bagged him a bit this week, but now he's really coming good..

edit: me too siac. that was a great finish. Think it is somehow easier playing with Archie in the front 3, takes the pressure off or something.

Fantastic finish from Kosta. I have been disappointed with him this season but he seems to be getting back to the form he showed for the Roar. I think Kosta is the classic case of someone who should never go to Europe but just stay in the A-League and carve (unless he wants the money of course).

Yep, as much as I don't like him, I really enjoy watching Archie play. He did the same with Rojas last year, I doubt Rojas would of had nearly as good a season with any other team in the league.

Lets hope Ernie is watching this.

Almost impossible to mark pace and MV certainly have that.

watching this makes me think about how rubbish the game was between us and CCM

Exciting game. 3:1. Good to see WSW trashed again.

Permalink Permalink

2nd half kosta was amazing, almost back to his brisbane best. victory looked far superior to wsw.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.
Permalink Permalink

WSW's backline just can't handle any one with pace. Normally they sit back and hit on the counter to stop it but last night they seemed to be playing a higher line. Hope Ernie was watching, we are just as susceptable to pace.

That's very telling cause Kosta and Archie will far outpace Sigmund, Boxall and Durante (which is exactly what you just said re-reading)

I really really hope we have learned from our last two encounters not to play a high back line against them. Its has been disastrous in the last two games. This game just goes to highlight that fact.

oh lord *facepalm*

If we had guys that could chase them in a foot race then sure. If Boxall is our quickest, then we are up shit street. Victory have made their name the last couple of years of chipping high back lines and getting in behind with the old 'nah nah nah catch me if you can' and low angled/squared ball for the opposite striker to run onto.

If we play a high back line, we will get crucified.

Apart from flares, all the other things to look out for happen at all sporting events - yet from what I can tell they are not as heavily reported on as they are when they occur in HAL games (imagine that instruction for journalists attending the sevens). There is a nice narrative around 'soccer hooliganism' which the media like to play up to.

It'll be a good test for Boxall, if he's really as fast as people claim, let's see what happens.

Even if he is super fast (doubt it), Victory's timing of their runs is the crucial thing, and we just have to be able to read the game and not be caught out. Mossy getting off his line is very important too.

Not sure even being super fast is enough. If you look at Archie's goal last night, he is offside right until the final ball across from Kosta. If you let them get in behind your defence, you are in massive trouble.
