I suspect I may be blogging solo tonight. People watching other irrelevant sport. The wife prefers her knitting to my football commentary tonight.

in the 2 hours of football I've seen Storm Roux play, he'd be a better option than Bertos in the wing back spot.

To be fair, Roux is keeping it simple - receive and give. Bertos got up the flank and also runs with it at feet a bit more (and gets dragged out of position as a result). Roux hasn't (tonight). Your point still stands though.

I like how he stays out wide on the touch line and not tuck in when CCM has the ball on the opposite flank. It forces the defence to at least humour him and spread in coverage.

Both teams an improvement on their performance last week. Hearts could easily be 3-1  but poor finishing leaves it at 0-0

We really need to lock him in for the AWs asap. He's only going to get better with age and experience.

Ha ha JV your comment reminded me, so I just turned it over to get the score, but I won't be watching .

His confidence going forward is very impressive. He's clearly got natural talent but it shows again what a gift Arnold and Ange have for bringing out the best in young players. If Arnold does as good a job of developing Roux as he's done the likes of Sainsbury, Rogic, etc then we may well have a quality AW fullback for years to come. Touch wood.

You are right and I know TV was raking that shit uphill for a long while. He was right as we have seen.

If the talk is that Herbert has Tuiloma and (rumoured) Roux locked in the squad for the play offs then a senior person is going to be disappointed I feel. He can't carry Reid, Smith, Durante, Sigmund, Bertos, AND Lochhead (and Brockie has played wingback as well)

Yeah the finishing is ordinary. McBreen, for all his donkeyness, may have slotted one.

The common denominator is 'good coaches'. Hopefully Ernie can do the same with our kids.

Pasfield - can never trust him. No matter how many good saves he makes a howler is just round the corner.

Even the most overrated  player can score two.

Gotta say, considering it looked like he would never make at the Gold Coast, Mehbratu just gets better and better. He made that goal.

Shit I really do not rate David Williams yet he scores a double. I had CCM to take this easily. Might buy Aloisi a couple of weeks till he gets the ban stick .

I'd love to see Kisnorbo vs Simon in a bare knuckle prize fight.

Penalty. Ref says holding??

Kisnorbo holding Simon. To be fair, he just warned them right before that so....

Grumpy old bastard alert

Permalink Permalink

If that's a penalty then every corner of every game would end in a penalty.

Permalink Permalink

What a piss poor decision that was. Never a penalty.

Whatever it was for, and to the refs credit, he stopped play before the corner to warn them. They obviously didn't listen to him. So penalty

Definate penalty.

Permalink Permalink

Yup it happens every game but he just did warn them right before the ball came in... I mean at the very least, he can't say he was not warned about it. Just the referee followed through on his warning.

Shit luck for Gerhardt. Definitely wasn't intentional but if your arm's out like that it's going to be given.
