great first half, but what the fuck was all that before kick-off? Away team come out and stand in a line on 1 side of the halfway line, home team come out and stand opposite them, and then there is a minute or 2 when they just stand there looking a bit awkward while "Stand by me" plays over the PA system. Players didn't know if they were supposed to eyeball each other like boxers before a fight, or studiously ignore each other.

Right there is an example of why A League refs are so frustratingly amateurish: there's no time to be added on but when the ball goes out for a throw with time already up on the clock and no one on either side interested in seeing it back in play Griffiths-Jones orders the Reds thrower to hurry up, then when the throw is taken immediately blows the whistle for half time! That is just plain dumb.
