Not sure that's really a red. The act of the challenge looks ugly but the contact is not flush nor really clearing through. Also looked partial ball and boot.
Yeah I'm pretty old school with this too, the game isn't as tough as it used to be, you need to be playing cap 5 or below these days for a good old fashioned slog fest. I'm all for ugly challenges etc
BUT, stupid challenge for a professional player. These guys know you can't do this. The refs have been told explicitly to punish these regardless of contact. The intent alone is punishable. So it's a fair red in my eyes.
