someone tell slater that 'go for the ball' has zero relevance to whether it is a foul.

A studs-up tackle is a foul at the best of time; when those studs connect with a keeper's head it's a definite yellow.

Heart sort of remind me of us: quite useful on attack, a bit shit towards the back, especially when they keep coughing up possession in the back third.

It's part of the limited repertoire he reels off every week. I doubt he'd be prepared to change it now.

Perhaps, but he sure knows more about the game than you.

What do you base that on?

That was a dead set back pass, and of course Slater claims it isn't.

Why do the heart put so many crosses in the box for a 5ft striker?

Lost count of how many times Heart have hit the woodwork over the last few weeks.

They are following the Ricki Herbert Handbook. Cross into the box (OR a big Longball up from defence) so that the 6'4" defenders could outjump the Phoenix 5'5" strikers. That was called Plan A.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

I thought the 1st half was OK - quite a few chances at both ends.

WTF is going on with McKain's hair? It's getting weirder every week.

Jesus, I know we were all waiting waiting for Adelaide to expose themselves but against the Jets??????

And I doubt they'll come back either. Style over substance.

Game should be all over by now to be fair. Jets fluffed the two easier chances they've had all night

Have to guiltily admit I want the Jets to hang on here. No way do Adelaide deserve a point.

Old Red Card Boogaard strikes again!

Permalink Permalink

Not sure that's really a red. The act of the challenge looks ugly but the contact is not flush nor really clearing through. Also looked partial ball and boot.

The Reds usual tin arse luck couldn't get them over the line. Guess they are saving that up for when we play them.
