I know the title states the obvious but is anyone else sick of seeing so many Liverpool shirts at Fury games?

I have no problem with people supporting him but he plays for North Queensland. Get a North Queensland shirt and support them.

End of tiny rant.

perhaps it's a sign that people aren't there to support the fury, they are there to support fowler?

is it any different to people Man Citeh wearing brazilian shirts for Robinho, or United fans wearing Argentian ones for Tevez?

I would be disappointed if Phoenix fans were wearing Liverpool shirts next week.

But does Fowler play for Liverpool or North Queensland...

It would be like me turning up to a 'nix game in a Perth shirt and saying I support SuperLeo.

+ 1, it's a way to support both him, the team and their EPL team, although if they were wearing them against adelaide...

Not really, because no way could Robbie still play for Liverpool, there is much more mutual respect there. Even though Liverpool is not a national team I think that the United/Tevez/Argentina and City/Robinho/Brazil arguments are right. It's a "different" way of supporting.

I'm talking more at away games - was particularly noticeable against Sydney. The People who turn up to the single game dressed in Liverpool shirts but don't really give a rats arse about the league or NQ (other than fowlers) performance..Gangsta!2009-09-15 00:45:25

Well hopefully they will now be saying "this A-League lark is better than we gave it credit for, wanna go back next week?".

They were Sydney 'fans', not NQ

Can I suggest (as I know it is quite true) that all the guys and gals you see at NQF matches are all in fact members of the various state branches of the  Liverpool Supporters Club of Australia.

Please do not assume that they are all NQF fans!

I didn't for a minute think they were and while I'm not a big fan of that (I'd rather people support the local team - particularly as these are often the people that complain that the A-League is a rubbish standard so they won't watch it) there is no problem.  They are supporting Fowler and in the away section.

I might lodge a complaint to the Broadcasting Standards Authority.

Robbie Fowler is not god despite what others might claim (heathens and pagans they are). God is in fact also known as Wor Sir Bobby. His son the Messiah has the earthly name of Alan Shearer and rounding out the holy trinity is the other one... King Kev.

Here endeth the lesson.

Please turn to Hymm no 1852 "The Blaydon Races", followed by Psalm 5769 "I'm Coming Home Newcastle". After the service we will file out while singing "Dirty Monkey Mackem".

Amen.

No shock there, they used to turn up in Auckland to cheer on whoever was playing against Knights or Kingz if Ferguson was involved.  It got a bit confrontational at times.

God forbid they show some respect for the nation and city they live in.

Well Jonathan Gould had 110 appearances for Celtic so maybe people should wear their late-90s Celtic tops to support him sitting on the coaches bench this Sunday?

Or maybe people wear mid-80s Wolverhampton Wanders to support Ricki Herbert.

After a while it is silly if everyone does that because then there would be no Nix shirts but a sea of multi colours including Team Wellington, Waikato FC, Auckland City, Millwill, Newscaste Jets etc Top around the ground to support their players.

Why can people wear something like a Retro Ricki Shirt version for their player, is beyond me.

I respect Robbie Fowlers goal shooting abilities but it this a little too far???

I'm also a bit over being told by the commentators how many goals he scored for Liverpool, and the unending "God" references. Many clubs have a player known as "God" to the fanbase. It's hardly unique or original.
Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.

I'd never heard Fowler referred to as 'God' before this year to be honest, when I first heard someone say god was playing in the A League I thought it was a gullibility test, surely Cantona signing for an A League team would have been on the news somewhere at sometime.
