how do they do the split round  and why do they do it ? i feel it is a bit odd that they do not have these split rounds during the international game windows. also this is a split round this weekend but 8 teams play and only 2 teams do not how does that work i really do not understand this concept.

i know the NRL have split rounds during state of origin ( i think ) and this is a bit more understandable than the a league.
