the a league is just not as exciting as last year...no Griffiths J., Zura, Rukavitza, Dadi only rarely getting starts, Adelaide mostly playing crap, Sydney not getting smashed, Gold Coast playing good, but nobody cares...
Brockie misses a good chance by a couple of cms...
how crap is Williams?
All those players have left but look at who has come in - Ifill, Henrique, Fowler, Culina, Sterjovski, McGlinchey, Travis and a host of others. I reckon more good players have come into the league than gone out of it. J.Griffiths is (unfortunately) coming back to the league in a month or two as well.
I also think that the league is just as exciting this year. The last few weeks have produced some superb games (not usually ours unfortunately)
Crowds are mostly down because of the sh*tty marketing by the FFA and perhaps the recession is still having an effect - this is certainly the case in Brisbane where the ticket prices have been ridiculous. Gold Coast are the same. (they are the biggest worry for mine - they seem to have an owner that will jump ship as soon as it gets a bit rocky and doesn't want to use his money to connect with the community or market the game)
Crowds are up and looking pretty healthy in Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Welly. Melbourne still gets 20000 every game also. I think that NQ has the potential to start getting big crowds as well.
