Top of the table clash for the opening fixture this week. Sydney have benched O'Neill whilst City have Cahill sitting on their bench and handing a debut for Ruon Tongyik in the heart of their defence.

Fantastic free kick by City has Vuka beaten all ends up but his the inside of the post and stays out.

Sydney hold off tackling Brandan and he makes them pay with a stunner from outside the box. 0-1

Much as I can't stand the mullet midget that was an absolute corker of a goal.

Bobo should be off as well after a nasty tackle on Franjic but the Ref doesnt appear to have seen it

Bobo equalises from the penalty spot! 1-1

Matt Simon with a shoulder off the ball, the game is turning nasty

That pen was so extremely soft. Shame for City; it would've been great for Sydney to finally lose.

Putting the brat into Bratton with that petulant post match interview. There was plenty of stupid, violent and deceitful conduct from both teams.

Both teams were guilty of it. So much diving and fake play-acting this match...

Yoshi has picked himself a very unlikeable team. And Sydney no better today. Extreme petulance. I doubt that Simon will survive the Match review panel (or whatever it is these days). Or at least he shouldn't - what a prat. And don't get me started with Brandan (although, what a goal). Strange game.

I know, I know, its serious!

Some kind of madness seems to have taken over the A league this season. There's this weird mixture of thuggery and theatrics. Chuck in what seems like an incredible number of cards, send offs and penalties and you are hard pressed to remember much that stands out in the way of actual quality football. The Beautiful Game it ain't.

We need red card for diving and other theatricals. You basically wan't the ref to hand out cards for nothing. Disgraceful.

I thought MV had used up a season's worth of luck last week but their lucky streak continues. Half time and they are 1-0 up after WSW have blown a host of chances. And MV's goal came from a keeping error.

Permalink Permalink

No luck about that one from Berisha. A bullet header makes it 2-0.

Permalink Permalink

Hattie for the Albanian Beserker and a 3-0 win for MV.

That frontline of WSW may have misfired badly tonight but they are going to really test the Nix next week.

A boilover on the cards at HT with Jets tearing through the Glory defence time after time to take a 2-1 lead into the break. If Hoole wasn't such an awful finisher he'd have a hat-trick instead of just the one goal. Amusing OG just before the break by Glory defender Smiljanic. Buries a diving header right into the top corner.

Jets take the 3 points. But for Liam Reddy's 11 saves it would've been much worse for Glory than 2-1.

First Jets win in Perth for a decade.

Be interesting to see if Adelaide's win over us was the sign of a turn around or a false dawn. I'm still picking them to make the six.

Great counter, two nice goals.

My first thought on the 2nd was that Oar was a mile offside. Replay seems to show it was a lot closer so probably a fair call from the lino.

Permalink Permalink

Fox dudes get over it, after the 5th replay they still can't tell if the goals was on- or offside. In doubt it's onside for the attacking team.

Roar look to be a dark horse for the title atm, only lost 1 time so far this season (4-0 to Newcastle strangely). If they could get more goals out of their forward line, they could be turning all these draws into wins and be able to chase Sydney down.

Broich with a header makes it 3-0

Roar 4.-0 but no way reflects the game.

Adelaide still a decent side .
