As mentioned in the league 2016/2017 thread, interesting match ups coming this round.  Season defining for some.  Brisbane Roar kicks off on sky sport 2 tonight.

Hard to go past Sydney tonight, Roar will dominate posses but not create any thing & Sydney will hit them on the counter for a couple. Sydney 2-0

Agree, hope their unbeaten run ends when they play us, they can keep winning till then.

Very lively start, Sydney struggling with the Roar's high tempo press early.

Heck of a save by Theo against Bujis' free kick

0-0 at half time, game died down a little at the end of the half. Still fancy Sydney to nick one

Broich hits the crossbar from a couple meters out, cops a boot to the head  in the process. Did Vuka get a hand to that?

Brisbane looking hungrier for it.   Wouldn't suprise me if Sydney won this one late.

Theo, I'm lost for words. What a save that was

Sydney should have scored then

Lolosko, puts a free header well wide

0-0, game was much better than what the scoreline suggests

Probably the closest Sydney have come to losing.  Great nil all draw to watch.

Can't remember another 0-0 draw better than that one. Tons of action, lots of quality but just the finish lacking from both teams.

30000 in to watch the local derby.  0-0 at the moment. Lots of niggles. I will be surprised if there are no reds in this game.

Poor old Manny, not a good night. I must admit the offside rule baffles me. Surely a case could be made that Berisha was interfering with play in that Manny felt he was forced to intercept the ball which led to the own goal. If Berisha wasn't there Manny would've simply left it for the keeper.

Is Gypsie a racial slur? If so bouzanis could find himself in some trouble..

Pretty sure they changed the interpretation to include this as offside? It shouldn't have counted imo.

Which may explain the level of angst by the MC bench. Pretty funny seeing Saint Tim's face when he was red carded before he could even get on the field.

what happened there? I had the game on my tv but with the sound off. Everytime I looked there seemed to be some madness taking place - Berisha goading the keeper, Cahill being sent off when not on the field, some City player lying prostrate on the pitch after the final whistle. Can someone please give me a synopsis of the talking points?

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

City is claiming Berisha interfered in an offside position that leads to Manny's own goal. I would say they are right, he almost smashed into the keeper.

Surely that last bit means Berisha is offside, so it doesn't stand? Manny has 'deliberately saved' the ball into his own goal but Berisha should have been ruled offside because he had gained advantage of the offside position?

Berisha did not gain anything.  Had Manny missed the ball and Berisha scored then he would have been offside.

"Cases involving allegations of racial, ethnic, religious or sexist discrimination will first be referred for mediation under FFA’s Discrimination Policy before any application of these Regulations to such cases"

Don't expect Bouzanis to be charged on Monday, City getting on the front foot straight away will probably help the result of mediation.

CCM v Adelaide on sky sport 4 now.  Looks about as many people were at the game in New Plymouth last night.

Looks even less than New P

Sounds like Galekovic has torn a muscle in his shoulder, so must surely be in doubt for the ACL now

"Clearly attempting to play a ball which is close to him when this action impacts on an opponent"

Offside IMO
