Season 12: Round 4

Some of the games this weekend will be worth watching - Friday night's clash between Melbourne City and Adelaide United should be a cracker. Hopefully an experienced ref (and linesmen).

These introductions are painful. I'd rather listen to Dewhurst and that's saying something.

Not sure if you caught their last two games but they were desperately unlucky to lose them both. They look pretty good to me, like top 4 material for sure. Problem for them is they are already racking up a lot of injuries so early in the season.

Some hilarious overacting their from Kilkenny. Almost as bad as Berisha's 'flopping fish' a season or two back.

Players just need to start copping 3 week bans for simulation. If you aren't going to do that, players will keep on doing it.

Some rare credit to Chris Beath, who is a woeful ref generally, for not falling for it. I was sure he was going to give Isaias his marching orders.

Adelaide showing barely any challenge. Very different Adelaide from the one from the end of last season.

I didn't think that was a penalty tho, was ball to arm and he had no time to react to move it away.

True but that seems to happen. You win a Championship and your team regresses. If the Phoenix won a Championship I wouldn't care as much anyway.

Meanwhile, WSW leads CCM 1:0 at halftime.  Santalab scores 2 minutes after turning up on the park, except this time he was there from kickoff, not from 80th minute. Will he last the full game since he is know as the 'Supersub'?

Stupid backpass for WSW and young Adam Berry scores first goal at A-League level.  WSW-SSM 1:1 at 60 min or so.

Storm Roux is looking pretty sharp; I didn't realise he was back from that horrific injury already... good to see.

Both sides missed absolute sitters tonight (Mitch Ncholls, Connor Pain).  It makes me feel better about Nix performances.

With 80 min gone this is an unispiring fizzler. Either side may still score, but not sure anyone would care.
