Let's never have a trumpet at the RoF.

And we're still waiting for Finkler's first!

I was thinking the other day about how goals from free kicks seem to have dried up all over the A-League recently. Surprised that the commentators said that the 3 McCormack has scored is equal most, I was sure peak Carlos & early Finkler were worth 3-4 a season.

Finkler never gets a chance with us, we don't seem to draw fouls just outside the box.

Penalty: Yes

Yellow Card: Yes

Red Card: Eff off

This what I hate about this VAR nonsense - it's supposed to rule out the howler but it's frankly a 50/50 call that has been retrospectively overanalysed and has now crippled MC's chances.

This is getting farcical.

This is quickly descending into a farce. Anything in the box & the players want it sent up to the VAR.

"That's a penalty, surely". Man this commentator is a moron.

They institute a poorly thought through VAR system to make the game less farcical but this is where we end up. Brilliant.

Gee, I don't know why but I suddenly feel like some Maccas.

Hit him with the stuts close to his balls, this a red every day.

That's a pen. Definitely a yellow but I don't think he can complain at the red. Horrible studs up challenge into his thigh. Var made the right call for me but the ref should have seen it first.

I would call the tackle 'reckless' which is a yellow. I wouldn't say it was 'dangerous' because he was kicking towards the ball and Italiano's momentum took him into the studs, the contact was purely accidental.

No idea what Joyce was thinking playing Fitzgerald at RB. He has been good on the right wing, he cost them the opening goal by not tracking back to cover Italiano.

Yeah that and total lack of anyone picking up Nichols when it got cut back to him. They had already got 5 - 6 behind the ball and he was the only other Glory player anywhere.

Had plenty of chances last season and did manage to hit the post once to be fair. I think in our heart of hearts we all knew that Finkler, freekick maestro who put several past us for MV, would never, ever get one for the Nix.

Glory are just not even trying for a 3rd, this is gonna cost them imo

I have no problem with the red card, but this VAR system means no-one knows whats actually going on, and there is more hammy acting going on in the box than a full series of Carry On films.

I think I'm ready to call Budzinski a flop, for a marquee player he has offered nothing

That goal sums up City's night, Malia makes it 1-3

Was expecting a goal at the other end really. Impressed he stayed on his feet.

City's version of Ahmad Elrich? One brilliant early season goal to get everyone excited then nada?

People might say that the game turned on the red card decision but it really was all Glory even before that. City are terrible atm.

Yeah I think it changed how the game played out in the second half but PG were certainly the better team before the VAR involvement.

What do mean, nobody knows what’s going on? It looked like clash on TV, and in the reverse replay you could see it in detail. Not sure what people in the stadium see, they get the replay. This is classic case of fixing a wrong Referee decision with Video assist. I agree that it is not perfect because of the procedure and the time it takes but all this can be improved. I can’t wait to catch the first diver, Berisha?

Papa and Simon both shown red cards, Syndey winning 3-0

Permalink Permalink

Papa might be set for a long stint on the sideline, Ney Fabiano got 9 weeks (reduced to 6 weeks on appeal) for spitting a few years ago.

Current disciplinary regulations have it was a minimum of 6 matches

And Hingert gets a consolation goal, 3-1

Bit rough sending Simon off for that.
