Ah, the days of Kosmina and Muscat going toe to toe on the sidelines.

I wonder if they still play for that Cup

This will be interesting. Neither team in a great headspace at the moment.

Might be just me but does the new Victory coach look like Muscat but with hair?

VAR overturns it cuz it hit chest. Somewhere in Tawa, Fenton is rather miffed about that

It's quite eerie!

God I hate VAR and the lengthy stoppages that come with it.  I'd rather have the mistakes from refs

Although this is actually one of the rare cases when VAR has done exactly what it was originally designed for: to correct a howler.

Should that have been a penalty for Kruse? I'm leaning  towards yes

Immensely enjoyed seeing Kruse go ballistic when it was turned down. Couldn't happen to a nicer fella.

I think he has every reason to be angry. It was soft but still a penalty imo

Not clear enough to overturn Referee's decision in my view (which is the way I think VAR should work - there to overturn clear errors, not line calls ... if we have to have it)

I know, I know, its serious!

Thomas doesn't save a shot cleanly & Traore cant clear, Halloran taps it in. 1-0

A lot of very poor quality football on display. Wondering if the surface has a bit to do with it. It seems very hard and fast.

I tipped Adelaide by one so I hope they hold on

I tipped Vic thinking Toivonen was back!
Nabbout has not been good enough for a Vic forward line this season.

McGree making a difference since coming back into Reds. Surely Adelaide from here, unless the Spaniard has some second half tricks up his sleeve.

Kotahitanga. We are one.

Not a good quality of football.

Move over Euro & EPL snobs.  We are new snobs - Nix snobs - we like high quality passing football. Sharpen it up lads.

Nabbout and the Victory just don't mix, this is how bad he was last time with them.

A draw is the best result for us. Adelaide ok but not looking all that threatening.

Common Vic can you fluke an eqaliser.

Its rather noticable how many extra touches they are talking, it really slows down their transition

PS Every time I see Roux play he confirms to me is is very, very average.

Kotahitanga. We are one.

Opseth seems to be just another in a long line of failed strikers for the Reds.

For such a terrible game this is oddly entertaining.

What kind of Victory team is this when you are subbing on nonentities like Hope and Athiu to try and change the game? Marco could practically name his price right now.

I feel for him a bit. He was devastated at the end. There is a lot to like about his game and I respect the way he went away, worked hard and turned himself into a decent A League footballer but you are right, he isn't right for this MV side. Mind you, the same thing could be said about a lot of those players, especially the imports.

Terrible finishing all round. Nabout, Blackwood + the rest

You can see why Sydney have a front four import players. The current crop of Aussies strikers just aren't up to it.

For a Ref on A-League debut, I thought Jacewicz did a very good job last night. She was barely noticeable, which is always a good thing for a Ref. Admittedly there wasn't much heat to the contest, so that helped a lot.
