So frustrating when the ball is in play and the coverage switches to the crowd, a coach, or a closeup of a player. This seems to happen a lot in the A league coverage, worse some games than others.
The commentators just have to mention a player, coach or spectator, and voilà, there's a dramatic lingering full screen closeup.
It has to be more difficult to do this than simply show the play, probably requires research and scouting well-known spectators. Maybe the producers think they're doing a great job. No, you're not!
Many goals and big chances have been missed, eg the Oluwayemi derby fumble. But even general play - I want to see it all.
If there must be these stupid reaction shots, can't they go in picture-in-picture? Or when the ball's out? Ditto replays.
Drama lovers have other options. It's a football game, so show the play.
Posted mostly to vent, and in the hope someone knows an A-league TV producer.
