Does that include FFA articles on the FFA home page as this was a copy from the FFA home page of a speech given by Frank Lowy at a FFA meeting...
Ad-News reporter James McGrath spoke to Foxs Sports Patrick Delaney and he also wrote about the A-League... decent article and worth reading..
The article indicates FFA learnt and understood Fox's goals and then set about aliening themselves with those goals...

The Herald Sun are reporting the next media deal could be as early as 2017 with the existing media deal brought forward... Chs 7 & 10 seem interested... they quote a figure of 80 million with two expansion teams with the early favourites being a third Sydney and second Brisbane teams...
Why on gods earth would they go back into Sydney when the game at North Sydney Oval did not work, there are 2 teams in Sydney and 2 just further north. I mean, really? Thats just dumb.
South side. Wollongong?
Wollongong would be the only place they could go. Capture the south coast down around there, Nowra, Kiama. Getting down into places like where there is a trunkline for trains.
Not sure how much is in this but a number of recent articles are saying our current 4 year [40 million ] media deal will be called up after three years...
The talk is a new 80 million dollar media deal with the FTA part being moved from SBS to either Channel 10 or Channel 7, both would broadcast either Channel 1 or 7mate i.e. their sports channels for lessor sports...
Huge rumour FFA are annoyed with the SBS broadcast... and failing in the rating game...
To many articles for there not to be something in it... needs two additional teams and existing teams... meaning I guess all current sides are safe with two new sides needed...

Sauce is the Australian Financial Review ... copied using """ as quote marks kept putting the entire answer as a quote.... much more in the AFR if you click on.. and as I said is the latest of a number of similar articles.
"""""Speculation is mounting that Football Federation Australia is trying to engineer an early end to its four-year $160 million broadcast deal with Fox Sports Australia and SBS.
The deal, which includes A-league matches, Socceroo games and the Asian Cup tournament that began on Friday night, is in its second year.
Football authorities are said to be concerned about soft ratings for A-league matches on SBS,""""
As an aside ... on the 80 million and the 12 teams tis not a lot more ..
Consider this
Currently 5 games over 27 rounds is 135 games …. + 5 finals + 2 teams in the ACL or at least 12 games… or 152 games + Socceroos
Consider the new position…. 6 games over 33 rounds is 198 games + 5 finals, plus tis said 3 spots in the ACL which is 18 games + 32 FFA Cup games … so 254 games + Socceroos matches..
Games have increased from 152 to 254 or an additional 102 games on 152 games so an increase of 67% … therefore if nothing else a 67% increase on 40 million is 26.8 million which is 66.8 million add a little inflation and a little more from a commercial broadcaster … 80 million is quite achievable…

FFA are re-defining "region" so different areas of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane will become "regions".
Do NZF and/or Phoenix plan a response to FFA WOF?
Why would NZF respond? They can't manage NZ Football competently, why would they have anything to say on Australian football?

Isn't it New Zealand Football who sub-let the licence to the Phoenix? Or did this change with Welnix ownership?
Pretty sure they are no longer part of it. Also, I didn't see anything in there that jeopardises the Phoenix' place in that league.
In fact with the signs that the WellNix are warming up for a W-League side at some point I'd have thought the plans for that league to become much more higher profile was actually an advantage for the Phoenix.

Would be good to confirm - whether NZF hold the licence and sub-let it.
I think you can read it a variety of ways from Nix POV.
Womens team - domestic as per Weenix, or Aussie W league? What signs, by the way?
Rumour, innuendo, talk of a girls Academy in conjunction with a Wellington school similar to the Scots College set-up.
In the SBS news report I spotted this:
"The WOFP has been endorsed by the nine State and Territory Member Federations and the 10 A-League clubs."

A pretty well reasoned and thought out counter whole of football plan from the Melbourne Knights - well worth a read IMO.
With Eager and Adams there I thought I'd post this - South Melbourne's current position on acquiring A league status
Implications for womens football in Oz, with new netball national league looking at franchise ownership by AFL and NRL clubs - Collingwood and Storm mentioned.

NRL and AFL clubs to hook up with netball?
....NRL....AFL......"buncha girls".....
Now this. Elite Aussie female sportswomen will be able to earn more $ playing netball, cricket or AFL than football ...Womens AFL pro league
