I've been lucky enough to see three games from last weekend in the last two days, some of the football has been very good.

Two things that have become obvious is that players seem to try the 40 yard Beckham styled passes way too often and giving the ball away and the other thing is instead of the simple quick or short pass, they have to try and take the opposition on, not just one player but a lot of players.

Not that taking players on is wrong but some try to do too much. Watching the Perth game at the mo, Perth look good for the most part.

True, but then we've fallen back on a few long ball type scenarios as well, which is a shame, we actually look damn good when the players are playing two touch. They can unlock any defence when they are on form. One day soon we are really going to tonk some team - hopefully this Sunday!

I really hope we can just absolutely whip someone. Cause I feel like we are gonna click very soon and goals will come flying in.

I agree. There have been moments in the last 3 years when I've felt we were going to nail someone 6-0, this season, I've a feeling that Greenacre and others are going to click and someone will get that hiding.

Here's hoping. And I've always dreamt of a hattrick. Always thought Smeltz could do it, but Ifill for me has the ability to consistently get shots on goal, and I think its down to our mentality on the day, if our two central midfielders can dominate and spread the ball, we could have a true spectacle

This has been obvious from that very first A-League game in season one.

The players still wouldn't let the ball do the work for them and they don't give enough supporting players to the player with the ball to outnumber the area and so cutting passing options down therefore rather than retaining possession by passing out back and around, a number of players are using ball park tactics and not making the step up to the professional grade. Lets face it, the abilities of the players in each team are varied. The ball park tactics will work only 10-15% of the time and only because you are facing against a similar ball player in the opposition with a supporting ball park player and the whole three players are struggling to keep their team spots because their abilities are lower than rest of the others.

The stop/start nature of the quality is due to the the ball park tactics being used at professional level.
