Yes, 'ass ref' sums him up.

Here's a theory...

Maybe the ass. ref was flagging for a foul on Moriyasu (the Jets guy has given him a nudge), not the ball out of play. Maybe, the ass ref genuinely thought the ball stayed in play as the 'whole ball' wasn't out.

That's actually the only scenario I can imagine because if the ass ref thought it was out his flag has to stay up.

McFlynn's diving on & grabbing the ball rugby style was hugely embarrassing.

Gave seen the replay a few times,He did that cause he was fouled and thought he was getting a free kick. I think it was a foul and the ref got it wrong-again.
