RR- you're now banned for the weekend for continual use of shark round themes in titles ?

Not sure a Scotsman would be much interested in the Ashes, except to see the Poms get thumped. But he has missed an absolute bundle of chances this season, yet still well up in the golden boot race thanks to his dead ball skills. Looks a bit chunky to me, likes he's been at the Irn Bru and deep fried Mars Bars.

It's all gone horribly wrong!

Ripper of a freekick, bueno. Not a GK expert by any stretch but unsure why he would give up that much of his goal. Basically saying get it up and down and you score.

Pen too!!!

Bobo makes it 2-1, that is a rather stunning way to end a half.

Yep, odd thinking from Bouzanis to say the least. Two silly errors have cost MC big time.

Would have thought with the copious amounts of analysis done these days that that sort of thing is predetermined.

The deflection made it really hard for Bouzanis, not sure you can blame him for it

Oh wow massive deflection off the wall. Why didn't they show that earlier?!

Having just seen a replay of the free kick maybe I'm being a little bit harsh on Bouzanis. Clearly took quite a deflection off the wall, although I still reckon he was too far over to the right.

Yeah agreed now! Didn't see that at all until the halftime analysis. I still find it odd he was almost marking the far post though haha!

Sydney are not looking very good tonight, if City knew what to do with the ball in the final third they might have a chance to get something from this.

I keep forgetting about Fornaroli. Huge loss for City.

Yeah I'll be very surprised if there's not another goal in this, if not two.

That was nasty by Bobo on Manny

City have replaced two forwards and still have left their marquee on the bench. Buddy is fast looking like a massive bust.

And Manny does a high elbow and the VAR gets him sent off.

Yeah garbage. Do all of them or none of them.

Not sure it was all that deliberate by Manny. If it was, he would have made much better contact. He should know better tho, you can't have your elbows up that high anymore.

Ha you're probably spot on there! Just had the feeling something was gonna happen, although can't blame him either.

Totally agree. Each successive slow motion replay makes it look more malicious, whereas both players were right up close grappling with each other. To me it's just more of the same old VAR bullshark which is making this season a tiresome watch at times.

Apparently there was no Ref decision for the VAR to review ... I thought they could bring to the attention of the Ref any off the ball incidents that they may have missed, guess not.
Permalink Permalink

That's one of the major problems of VAR: there is always some technical justification for why one incident can be reviewed but not another. The whole system is weighed down by complicated rules which is precisely what you don't want in a football match.

And don't get me started about the number of so-called handball penalties that are suddenly occurring this year thanks to VAR.....

Commentary guessed about 11k. Pretty low for 1 v 3.
