I just saw a replay of the last penalty on the tele. It's hard to say what there was to it. The ref had warned a player about pushing and from what I saw the same player then pushed a guy (possibly in the throat). I suppose if he was warned then fair enough. But you do see that sort of thing at every corner, but I guess that doesn't make it ok.
totally [or partially] unrelated topic but I hope to see more fouls given, when needed, without the fouled player having to dive. I watched the game on the internet and didn't see a clear replay, so don't know whether it should have been a pen, but if someone is obstructing a player to get to the ball (by using hands, arms etc), then shouldn't it be a foul?
I am a big hater of divers but sometimes I do understand why they do it. Nowadays if you don't go down for 2 mins, the ref won't even contemplate blowing his whistle.
this being said, the ref had a shocker yesterday (esp. those 2 red cards).
