Rubbish performance last night by my lot, but it means I won't accidentaly get promoted, I wouldn't want to get smashed regularly in Div 2 so I'll build for next season.

Odd season so far for me: 46 goals scored, 46 goals allowed, 46 points - only 1 draw in 26 games (15 wins, 11 losses). Don't really know how that happened.
Haha, wish I could have a season near that. 7 wins, 7 draws, 12 losses, 27 goals scored, 38 conceded. I started the season 2-4-7 17 goals scored, 28 goals conceded in the first 13 games Since then we have gone 5-3-5 10 goals scored 10 goals conceded.
Our total April record (removing the freaky 6-4 game in the Cup) looks like this: 1-1. 1-2, 2-0, 1-0, 1-0, 0-1, 1-2, 1-0, 1-2, 3-0, 2-1, 0-1, 1-0, 0-0, 0-0, 0-0, 0-0 => That is 5 straight clean sheets, with only 1 goal scored in 6 games, and only 1 conceded. So the changes to stop the conceding of goals really paid off, but those changes also stopped us scoring goals. Really not sure where to go from here.
Niall - Seems like a mid table type season, conceding too many, but scoring enough at the same time. As for no draws that is just freaky.
Well if there's hope it is in my season last year - I scored 33 goals in 34 games, so things can be fixed quite quickly. I think you need to drop 10 mill or so on a 3 star striker with 12-13 heading and finishing
Might be the way to go, I have about 20m in the bank at the moment :D
with that kind of money you could picnh a 3.5* kiwi striker and make some real headway

Big boost for confidence and goal difference with a 5-1 thrashing last night, still in sixth but only three points behind fourth. Also only four ahead of ninth so I want to end well to stay roughly sixth.
Goals came to all the usual suspects, OMC had 2, Seghers had his 18th this year and Martinez his 11th, my dynamic duo could end up with 35 for the season combined.
The hunt for a NZ striker hit a massive wall today...I had shortlisted two of them, 24yrs old 3.5 stars, one at 7m, one at 15m, first one passed my 24m balance with 2hrs left, second one has a day to go and is also very quickly closing on my balance...I think I need some more money :P
Yeah in my experience 3.5 guys usually go for about 30 million to 50 million depending on age, 3 star guys are probably the way to go. Even they are getting a bit pricy!
I'm about to expand my stadium then I'll have 70 mill or so ready to spend on players, but I'm so stacked with 3.5-4 potential at most positions that I don't really want to block the way, maybe I'll just build a huge war fund instead
with 3.5-4* guys you're probably ok in the player department, especially if they are not too old. build up the war chest get the stadium up to scratch and kill it!
Well I have a YF match-up tonight in the league taking on Los Halcones for the third time this season, the fourth match-up will be on Tuesday.
A 2-0 win puts me in 4th place, 3 points ahead of 5th. 3rd is 7 points ahead of me so will be tough to catch up especially with only 5 games remaining.
A 1-1 draw gets me 4 points ahead of 5th. 3rd is now 9 points ahead. Hoping I can hold onto 4th with only 4 games remaining. Playoffs would be a challenge as the teams above me are quite good.
So to get my sponsor goals I need 10 goals in my next 4 games, 2 against Top teams, 2 against strugglers. Think it might be time to go all out attack. Have 16 goals leeway on my conceding goal.

My sponsor goals are either completed or impossible from here. I need to score 10 goals in 3 games, and I can't make it to top half. But won one Cup game, and only conceded 43 goals (Well under the goal of 60)
I'm within the playoffs for promo, I finished here last season and got beaten so it really delends. There is no way I'm catching second or first, third is possible, I beat third place last night. I play 5th on Friday and then 8th on Sunday and finally 13th to finish the season off. In theory if I could win all of those I'll finish 3rd comfortably.

I played another playoff team last night, was leading 2-1 and subbed my keeper to end up with a 2-2 result. Think overall the changes in the second half of this season have really improved my team, so hopefully it works into next season. Final two games of the season are ANE2 (16th) & Katikati (18th) so hopefully I can get enough from them to gain 12th. Also going to go very attacking in both games as we need to score 8 goals to make our Sponsor goal of 40. Can concede up to 14.

You guys will stay up anyway, there's no active teams in Div 2 to replace you with. And there's hope too, a team who finished 17th last year in my league is now 3rd and in the promotion playoffs, a couple of buys completely shored up their backline.
I think I need to strengthen my backline or keeper, all sitting on 2.5-3 stars which is doing ok, but needs to stop conceeding as many goals.
It's still pretty cool to legitimately stay up though, even if it is technically meaningless.
Agreed. AD Fafe sit in 14th (Bottom of Relegation playoffs) with a game against Katikati who are the dead last inactive team to finish my season. I want 7 goals (Sponsor Goal), but think it is unlikely.
