Kicked off with a solid 1-0 win against what I think was a newly relegated team... that'll do me :)

All the possession all the shots and a red card to the AI team I was up against...and I lost 1-0. Not exactly the start I was hoping for.

Lost 2-1 away to a team that did well in my group last season. Need to beef up my defence but yet to find a suitable CB/bargain!

It's a hard ask finding players at a decent price at the start of the season. Everybody has their sponsor cash to spend so it inflates by rather a lot!

Looking forward to a bright start and then finish with mid table mediocrity. How I've not been sacked as Battle hill FC manager is beyond me.surely the fans will revolt this season.unless i improve the standard of hotdogs maybe ?

Trains lost the opening YF rivals match 2 - 1 away to Sky Valley... Soren had his second ever career brain fade and picked up two yellows in quick succession and got marched... mutter mutter muttah panneer...

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Good point! I ended up investing about 20mil in upgrading facilities with a view of setting the club up in the longer term. My team feared OK last season in my group Kiwi 1.13. I've seen teams in my group pick up at least 1 or more 3 1/2 star players already, but I should be able to cope and aim to not get relegated.

Yeah reckon that'll work out for the better in the long run. I'm just starting to reap the rewards of such a strategy in my Aussie club this season.

Started with a 3-0 win. Had a rough season last season and didn't manage to make it to promotion after being relegated. This season will be aiming to build some depth as I have none outside my starting 11.

with no money to spend on players I'm added capacity this season.....and hoping that some of my 4-5* postential youths bloom and make the first team epic!!!

Excellent 1-0 win over Peow (my first win over them), makes up for a disappointing draw first up.

I've had the same start to this season as last - not going to get too excited as last year was my worst finish.....except for the two seasons I was learning.

the projections for this season are pretty good though

I was quite pleased with that result. My squad is probably weaker than it was for the last couple of seasons as some old fullas are declining and I'm trying to develop youngsters over the next couple of seasons. My  previous approach of bargain hunting for older players worked for a while but I could see my team getting stuck in a spiral of promotions and relegations without ever getting any better.

currently 2-1 up at home against fierce GRRRivals AD Fafe

Head to head we are dead even with 3 wins each and 2 draws.

First goal came from the only signing of the off-season, striker Grega Jerovšek.

The second from a set piece from academy lad Chuck Chesson on 43mins from a free kick

Jerovsek and Rose score on the 54th and 56th minute to bring the score to 4-1.

Still a lot of empty seats at Gloria Ave, hopefully the team can keep performing and get the stadium pumping

I reckon it's because the stadium has a naff name. Rename it something like 'Indigo Lights' and your crowds numbers will be soaring soon.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

had my first loss last night, 4-0 to top of the table, was missing one of my 3.5* DC's and then lost another to a red card!!!!

Good call, and the real life Los Halcones Locos don't play at Gloria Ave any more either :p

The real life Khandallah Lokomotiv don't live in Homebush Road anymore either... I moved to Upland Road in Kelburn... but you can't just go changing names willy nilly... the fans are invested in The Trains...

What a game last night, after being up 3-1, it got back to 3-3 before a 90th minute winner gave me three points to put me in fourth early on.

Someone explain to me this random season-by-season performance by  Simon Rood

Season 32: 21 games, 7 goals, 7 assists
Season 33: 34 games, 10 goals, 11 assists
Season 34: 28 games, 3 goals, 4 assists
Season 35: 3 games, 3 goals.

Hopefully it was just a down season is S34, because he's on fire to start this year.

You should NEVER make the 'on fire' call. He's cursed now. Won't score again for the rest of the season. You heard it here first...

Got a cheeky away win in Kiwi 1.13, 2-1 against a new comer Winton SV. Does anyone have a DC with good heading and positioning they want to sell me for under 25mil? PM me if you want to do business ;D

Sorry mate, looking for a DC that already has preferably 12+ heading and/or positioning!

Whoops, I thought you said tackling, not heading, as you were...

Would accept a bid on them - can't guarantee that you'd get him for $25mil though.

Yeah I could definitely see those guys going for 40 mill +. Some nice players in your reserves.
Too expensive for me! I only have 27mil in the bank right now after upgrading facilities. Also apart from stamina, strength and work rate being my secondary requirements i.e. so long as they're not too bad, I'd be happy to take a 3 1/2, 3 star talent with the specific attributes that I'm looking for. Only a small club, can't afford to lash out :) Those are some real nice players though! Sorry if this belongs in Transfers.

Bit tough getting a 3.5 for that price right now. Could probably get a 3 who is over 32 years old :p

yeah need to wait till mid season and you'll find plenty of "decet" enough players at good prices.

Great start to season 2 wins. But had two loses last 2 games to bring me back to earth. Few injuries in defense hurting too

Down 2-0 after 70 minutes, win 3-2, great fightback, in a tie at the top now

Wins for both my main team and the B squad last night - might even be the first time that's happened.

Elite FC have had a hard start to the season and finally got their first win but have already faced the top few on the table and come away with some good draws. So despite a lowly table standing and probably the worst start to a season in a while in terms of points I'm actually quietly pleased and expect the wins to be flowing soon as we face some weaker opposition in coming rounds.

B squad however have more points already than the entire last season and are sitting currently in the lofty heights of a playoff spot. Expect that to drop back to earth very soon though when they come up against some better quality sides.
