I like the idea of foreign films and walks on the beach at Dunners would be to see the locals bashing some seals surely?

Another point in Dunedin's favour - plenty of footballers like to go clubbing after matches...

Incidentally, Dunedin has a casino and is therefore on my list of acceptable places for the Phoenix to play in NZ should they not play in Wellington.

However, someone decided that it'd be a good idea to play this game before October which means I can't get in.

so just to clarify, Dunedin is hosting the pre-season game, meaning they won't be in the running for the regional game. Do we have a new contender for that one?

So Auckland could still get a game?
Permalink Permalink

Auckland was always going to get one moved home game, the one that would have gone to Christchurch usually. That hasn't changed.

But I've noticed that the first home fixture is on my birthday. That might make a trip to Welly feasible.

After two trial games last week, an Exodus Team Wellington training squad were put through their paces last night under the watchful eye of head Coach Matt Calcott and assistants Mark Oates and Rapha Christians. The coaching staff will be looking to finalise the Exodus Team Wellington squad in the coming weeks ahead of a fixture with the Phoenix on Sunday 2nd October.

Head Coach Matt Calcott said, We are now getting very close to settling on the squad we want to go into the start of the 2011-2012 ASB Premiership with. Last weeks trials were a very worthwhile exercise and we now want to get a look at a few players in the training environment before finalising a balanced squad.

Exodus Team Wellington has completed its first signing with the transfer of Michael Eagar being completed this week from Redlands United in Queensland.

Matt Calcott said, We are very pleased to have Michael Eagar back at Team Wellington after his stint in Brisbane. He was one of the standouts for Team Wellington last season and he was an important target for us in the middle of the park.

More signings are expected over the next few days as staff and management work through the contracting and transfer processes.

Team Wellington Season memberships are now on sale with details and an application form available at www.tw.org.nz
