after watching the jets v heart game i cant see the heart making the playoffs at all, The Jets new defender Tiago was very impressive and with topor stanley they boast a fast and tall timber defence that will be hard to crack....
looking forward to fridays game but still think Melbourne with all the pace and attacking options are the red hot favourites allsopp, thompson, rojas, solorzano, kewell, hernandez, cernak probably the best attacking group in the comps history

I dreamed last night I was watching the AWs play the Socceroos at Kiwitea Street, for some reason. AWs won 5-2. Interestingly enough, the entire crowd were wearing ACFC colours except for a few hardy souls in Nix gear, but there didn't seem to be any fistfights.
Siggy and Grella must not have been playing.

Cracking season coming up
SYDNEY FC Will hopefully improve from last season, on and off the park. The league needs it. Their new CEO seems like the right person. Emmo will sign soon and that will help both the team, and also good for the
supporters and likely sponsors.
NEWCASTLE The Tinkler revolution is well and truly on, cheap membership prices, renovated stadium, tidy squad,
things are definitely looking up for the Jets, crowds should dramatically increase.
CCM Seem to be doing all the right things in the community, heard somewhere that their memberships are going really well. The Centre of Excellence is well under way. Have kept Amini for the season and their squad is intact.
HEART Have had a clean out and seem to have recruited really well, with new boys Fred, Williams, Maycon, Duganzic and a new Argentinian midfielder. Sure Victory has hogged most of the headlines in Melbourne for most of the off season, but the derbies are going to be smashing events. Hopefully they can increase their members and crowds.
WELLY Rumours about their owner going broke havent stopped during the off season, which is a concern. Theyll now be the biggest concern for the FFA, but theyll sign Dani Sanchez in a few days, and still a few more players to come.
They had 15k people turn up to a preseason game last week against Brisbane which is unreal for tis time of the
year. But a lack of depth in the squad could hurt them. Ricki will be looking to sign a few more players Im sure.
ADELAIDE Probably the best team on paper, with good depth, and some great acquisitions. Also smashing it off the park with new sponsors coming on board. Will be very hard to beat this season. The front runners in my eyes.
BRISBANE The champions have lost Barbarouses and Mackay, but recruited 2 good defenders, have other midfielders waiting in the wings, new Albanian striker coming in, and maybe 1 or 2 more players to come.
Their memberships and attendances should go really well this season. New owners coming in also.
GCU Im predicting not such a bad season as others for GCU this year, still have experience in the side, and a heap of local youth coming through is great to see, and a couple of exciting signings from Europe. Clive is now talking long term which is great news, and their crowds can only go 1 way. A work in progress, but I think they can improve in all areas this season. At least they seem to be a bit more community minded this season.
PERTH Ive said this for a couple seasons, but they should really have a big impact on the competition this year, with Smeltz, Dodd, Andrezinho, Hughes and Vukovic coming in. The big question mark for me is still their coach. But hopefully for the Perth public that has seen a few disaster in their A-league history this year may turn that around.
VICTORY well, where do we start, its all about H. They should have around 30k members this season, and a few games could possibly sellout. The derbies will be cliffhangers, and the media scrum round H and the league as a whole should be ground breaking.
So heres my 5 cents worth on how I think the A-league is shaping up this season. I cant wait, I reckon itll be the best and biggest season ever. As an MVFC member the anticipation is enormous. But also with a new TV deal just around the corner, a big season is just what the A-league needs right now.

Alright, I'll throw out a prediction:
1 Brisbane
2 Adelaide
3 Melbourne Victory
4 Sydney
5 Central Coast
6 Newcastle
7 Perth
8 Melbourne Heart
9 Phoenix
10 Gold Coast
(it pains me to put us at that position, but without Rojas or any decent recruiting what can you do?)

Where's Grandadi when you need him?
I'm here! Over the last few weeks I've been sat gibbering like a Ghadafi in a corner of the room, deliberately avoiding predictioning. Can someone let me know when it's safe to come out please?
Yep, coast is clear. No more loonies around (no more than usual I should say).

Can you predict if we will make Mini Judas cry this season?

Good call Junior. I think you, me and tigers are the only ones who can hold our heads up high at the moment.

Although I have to admit T-X that in this thread it was a real wishdiction, whereas in the other fred it was a somewhat 5% considered post (I had picked 5th).
So I think that you and Tigers and Grandadi are the ones with "high heads", while I am a bit slouchy.

I think this duck would have something to say about that.
And my dreams. Although Daniel is still the number 11 (good).

I had a dream!
A very vivid dream that the Phoenix beat Brisbane 3-2 at home, the winner scored in the 81st minute from a Tim Brown cross, scored by an unknown number 11.

Was more thinking of the game next week and the final score.
Am a bit afraid to ask what the duck has to do with your dream (considering I'm pretty sure you are more of a cock man - as i am).

LOL nearly everything in this thread is wrong, this season has practically been a reverse of what people expected, ccm/GC aside.
BUT - i did say nearly... because the original dream will still come true!
The unknown 11 you speak of will actually be Ifill - no.11 just got in your head because daniel is practically his twin and gets mistaken for him all the time
