no issue with the choice taken... i just quite enjoy the saturday games and being able to go out and celebrate our inevitable home win afterwards.

I'll talk to Air NZ see if they can do anything about the flights.
If they are anything like FFA, they'll approve it because of 'exceptional circumstances'.

I like to think that the FFA rescheduled the game solely for me.

Thanks FFA, appreciate it, this means I can keep my 100% home game attendance record.

Adelaide game is on Sunday. Just a three day turnaround for both the players and the Fever.

And the same on Thursday Friday Saturday before Dunedin? Sounds good.

The switch comes despite the FFA refusing to switch two other games in similar circumstances and refusing a Jets offer to play the Phoenix in Newcastle on February 27.

It's believed the Jets may send a weakened squad, fearing injuries to their players from the schedule.

"In a close competition like we have at the moment, this decision could have a real bearing on our season,'' van Egmond said.

"To decline our compromise to play the game in Newcastle, claiming it would disadvantage Wellington, is insulting for the credibility of the A-League competition, our players and fans."

What a gracious offer by the Jets there. Transfer our home game to Newcastle, sandwiched in between two games in NZ.

They are coming across as real tossers in this.

Allegedly

I think any neutral would say that the right thing has been done here, nobody wants to see any club have to default a game due to the international windows. That would be far more insulting for the credibility of the A-League than rescheduling a fixture is.

Must've had a chat with Sam Worthington...:P

Seems a bit ridiculous, would be fine with us travelling over the tasman twice in a week, but not with them doing it (Our games are 3 over 8 days, theirs 3 over 10 days). They complain they will have to field a B side, but we couldn't have even got 11 players in position on the field. Bunch of Muppets.

That is perhaps the single biggest bit of bullshit I've read this season and I'm on here nearly every day.

This would have been a likely lineup:

               Nobody

Hogg Muscat Downey Lindsay

Fenton Sanchez Lia Boyd

       Ifill  Huysegems

Subs: Smith Nobody Nobody Nobody

Jets would have loved playing against a team with no goalkeepers and only one player on the bench.

I agree, I just don't understand how the decision wasn't made earlier/before the fixture list was released? They knew when the FIFA windows were, it was kind of obvious when the All Whites would be playing and how many players we would be losing. I think they should re-think their policy of not breaking for international windows, would also give space for Cup games (wink) and shorten the off-season?

We would've had to play a keeper, Smith would've had to start back there...

You've got hoggy on the right there.. thats no good.

Fenton could probably go GK - based on that tawa video. And his diving skills we saw recently

So we are changing it to:

             Fenton

Lindsay Muscat Downey Hogg

Smith Sanchez Lia Boyd

       Ifill  Huysegems

Subs: Nobody Nobody Nobody Nobody

Would probably still beat the Jets with that side tbh.

Poor old Smith, can't even get a game with half the squad missing.

If they didn't move the date, we would have been signing unfit state league players for one game. That could have broke records.

or maybe downy at RB, Lindsay CB. Probably more suited to the abilities.

Also this is assuming Hoggy doesnt get selected..

I've selected Nelsen, Reid, Smith, Bertos, Dura, Siggy, Boxall and Lochhead for the All Whites in my head, so I doubt we will need Hogg as well.

guess it depends on Nelly's availability and if we are looking at a back 3..

And if Fenton is better than Marco...

Or if Dura is cleared by FIFA.

I did go worst case scenario to ram the point I was making home.

There's absolutely no need to select 6 centre-backs for these two games.

Maybe he's been anticipating this situation.

Poor positioning. He's no Tony Warner.

No nelsen and one of Reid or Smith to be 'injured'

Clearly it's different if players are unavailable. But no need to select 6 CBs, even in a tournament type situation.

Yeah I was going absolute worst case scenario for the Phoenix, purely for effect. I wasn't being realistic.
