Hope the weather will stay nice for Sunday, although it is Wellington we are talking about...

I don't think you missed Carlos playing in a nix shirt. Wearing one maybe.

Were you asleep during his 7 goals and 8 assists in ~20 or so appearances?

He apparently led the team in assists, shots, crosses and chances created.

Sure, he threw a stroppy towards the end there - and I don't think getting rid of him was the wrong move; yet he's still in the top 5 attacking players we've ever had on our books. Lots of revisionist history on here.

Top 5? Are you joking?

I'd put Tim Brown ahead of him as an attacking weapon.

Lots of KFC-tinted glasses who remember what he was like at Victree.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Hell, I'd put Siggy ahead of him as an attacking weapon tbh. Even Leo was better at free kicks than Carlos.

More than that, it is open to everyone, regardless of whether they go to the Home & Garden show. Just buy a ticket, and go. if you want to go to the Home and Garden show as well you can, but you don't have to.

Members just get the two for one voucher in their email... that's the only difference Topleft.

The word is that everyone in the nix was glad to see the arse end of him.

Would probably trade some assists and goals for a bit of defensive work.

Rumour has it you can still see his fat arse waddling away!

Hmm true, and I don't think he was bad for us, but I'd say there's mitigating factors there: our team was set up to feed him the ball - there were no wingers as such and he was the only player linking midfield and attack so he simply got more chances to assist or cross than anyone else. In part that was also because he would do zero defensive work, so we had to sacrifice a more attacking player to make up for it. He also took our attacking free kicks when he was on the field so that would inflate his shots numbers too.

I think what frustrated me and I assume other fans too was how little he ever seemed like he wanted to be out there, but then he'd get stroppy if he was taken off. Could have been a great player for us but his attitude was awful. I wonder how much of it was a clash with Ernie?

So, Cunningham on for Burns tomorrow?

I think it is good that we don't play a high line as much as last year.  It will allow Dura and Siggy to keep on top of things a bit more, plus the young legs of Rodrigez and Bonevacia may be able to help out if needed.

More importantly Junior, have you decided on what plants you may like to take home for your garden?

May I ask why youre attending a Home and Garden Show then?

So youre not going for the grassroots football? I hear Siggy may get agricultural against his old side.

Any clue what the chances of getting a car park at the stadium would be tomorrow? $8 parking beats paying for 2 day rovers on the trains.

Hey guys, stupid question but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that you need a ticket to the Home show to get into the game? Can anyone confirm? Does it mean a ticket to either the home show or the game will get you into either event? That true or am I having morning brain farts?

Correct, you do need a ticket to the Home and Garden show, there are no tickets specifically for the Nix game.

It only costs $8 for an adult though, and here's a voucher for 2 for 1 tickets, so the $8 will get two people in.

Thanks Patrick,

I already have a voucher as my wife and I went to the Home & Garden show a couple of years ago and every year they send us a 2for1 voucher!

JBS and Rufer for Doyle and Lia at HT. 10 minutes later the other 8 (everyone aside from Italiano) were subbed at once.

Nix played well first half, wasn't quite a starting team. Canterbury wasn't the best.

Once we did all those subs and had the young ones on, the game kind of fell apart. Nice to put six away, the penalty was stupid and wasn't really sure what Fenton was trying to do.

I'm positive things will go wrong.

It was good fun. Who was the player with the 32?
Permalink Permalink

Back home cold....solid enough passing game in first half which brought some goals.  Weemac was class.  Reira got good chant as he walked up the aisles(didn't play).  Roly looked okay but not as creative as I thought he might have been..maybe constrained by the passing game?

Never thought "we want seven" would apply to subs at one time but...

Still think we will miss not having an out and out goal scorer.  Brockie chant is gold...
