We may be slightly moving in the right direction, but one league placing per year is not really enough is it?
Personally think we have priorities a little wrong. All very well taking months and months to get EPL teams here but I'd take a few good signings and a much better 2014-15 season as a result over 2 pre season friendlies.
Rob Morrison said Merrick was in negotiations to secure a new striker, a box-to-box midfielder, and "probably another defender". There is no evidence that securing the BPL friendlies has been the sole focus of the club.
We (probably) have all 5 visa spots filled, so that leaves Aussie/NZ options. These are the domestic A-League off contract players:
Adelaide: Barker-Daish, Bowles, Kamara, McKain
Roar: Acton, Diogo Ferreira
CCM: Pasfield, Brett Griffiths, Bosnar, Simon
Heart: Mitchinson, Retre, Vranković, Walker
Victory: Traoré
Jets: Brown, Carney, Gibbs, Joel Griffiths, Mitchell, Ward
Glory: Smeltz, Zahra
Sydney: Chianese, Garcia, Jurman, Mallia, Necevski, Powell, Matt Thompson, Warren
WSW: Beauchamp, D'Apuzzo, Golec, Heffernan, Minniecon, Špiranović, Topor-Stanley, Jason Trifiro, Tyson.
Also rumours of Carl Valeri & Christian Esposito coming back from Italy.
